What was Rocky eating in the diner? Why did he refer too it as garbage?? It actually looked good! Moreover.. why would Rocky basically admit that he likes eating garbage since he scarfed down Annie's dish with such enthusiasm and gluttony?

Good question. An unspoken pretext beneath a scene helps to add nuance and depth even where motivations and the earlier interactions between characters is never spelled out. It seems to me that there is an unspecified past between Rocky and Ron which the "bully" disguises by insulting the culinary skills of Ron's wife - who quickly protests, thereby becoming an instrument of distraction and concealment. Why does Rocky ask Ron for more "garbage" when clearly she is mainly responsible for producing it ? I'll leave it to others to speculate on what double-meaning the word "garbage" could have between these two complicated men, what contribution Ron makes to Rocky's favourite dish, and indeed what Rocky could have in mind when he ruminates on "eating" Ron's "garbage". Steak, beans, crinkle-cut fries and fried egg. Soon I will prepare a plateful.

Do you think that Rocky finished eating his "garbage" after Clark forced him to sit in it?
