In SIV, they build up this whole thing about Lois going to Paris and then out of nowhere Lacy cancels the trip making Lois react like someone has just killed her children!
What was the point then of even having Lois go to Paris if it was just going to be called off like 2 minutes into the movie?
Also why such an obvious knock-off of Superman II:TAC (when Lois also goes to Paris)??

Behind the scenes, they also told the cast that day that the special effects budget for Superman IV was going to be trimmed to $3.02 (USD). Hence, Margot's reaction.

SIV has, as we all know, a lot of problems but this one is no big deal.
In the corporate world, lots of plans get sidelined when the new owners take over.

Lois could have stood her ground and told Lacey that the purchase order for the Paris trip had already been approved so it couldn't be cancelled last-minute. Oh and CAM, the SFX budget for SIV WAS NOT $3.02 cents!!!! It was nearly 100x that amount!

That $302 was probably closer to a cool $500 pounds!!!! Those cardboard cut-outs of Reeve and Pillow didn't come cheap!
