Something was strange to me.... when Superman uses his heat-vision to destroy the fortress I think something is wrong with his heat-vision.
I don't know how to describe it but Superman's heat vision beams look wrong... like someone drew them in using red crayons.
What happened here??

VERY cheap and poorly done effects for the RDC caused it. I would have far preferred NO heat beams (like in the IRC cut) to those obnoxious thick crayon marks. On the tv version, Reeve's performance is fantastic and sells it WITHOUT the beam effects. (though of course the on-set lighting effects and sound effects helped it out)
Those effects can be done on a home computer, but the fx company (who also botched the number on the missile in the beginning) apparently never bothered to watch how the heat vision was done in 1980 SII theatrical- which weren't done on the computer (as far as I know), but were rotoscoped in a quieter and more subtle way each time the heat vision was used by both Clark and the villains.
*sigh*
