Except in two instances and they were both deleted scenes...
1.) Superman punching Non in The Donner Cut 2.) Superman punching Nuclearman 1 @ the Metro Club
Maybe these scenes were deleted for that reason.. that Superman should never punch anyone?

I think you're confusing it with Mank's edict: "Lois can never kiss Clark". (Weird thing is, never mentions anything about Perry or Jimmy kissing Clark. A little odd.)

Back during the George Reeves TV show, the network objected to having Clark and Lois eating breakfast together for the Cornflakes commercial (the implication being they spent the night together). However, they had no qualms about Clark and JIMMY eating breakfast together which they did in the commercial. I guess it's okay for Clark and Jimmy to "get it on" as it were but not Clark and Lois? ?? Think we'll ever get a gaay Superman? And no Superman Returns doesn't count... Superman wasn't actually supposed to be gaay in that film despite all the gaay things he does.

I don't have a problem with alternate versions of characters- but if you change something significant, (i.e. if a character doesn't mind collateral damage during his fights), you better have a GREAT reason for it to win me over and say 'sure, no problem- still dig the character'.

PRICELESS!!!! Yeah.... SIV is a funky movie. I was frustrated when I first saw it, but in hindsight, I look at it like a Reeve 'fan film' of Superman disguised as a 'real' feature film. Their hearts were in the right place, but the money didn't match the ambition. If you look at it as a fan film, (much like Richard Hatch's Battlestar fan films), its much better.

Yeah SIV basically ended up being for the fans when you think about it.
Then again, you could have Christopher Reeve as Superman just sitting on the can for 2 hours and we fans would still go to see it so....
