I really don't understand how Lois can afford that penthouse unless she was a millionaire. The average pay of a journalist in 1977 was under $4.00/hr. At that rate of pay, Lois lane would be literally living in a filthy cardboard box on the streets of NY.  |

They seemed to have corrected the journalist's rate of pay with Clark's underwhelming (and slightly scary) apartment in SIV. |

Dude... CAM.....Clark is Superman... he can just steal all the money he wants to buy that apartment. Lois on the other hand is actually trying to scrap out a living in NY City making $3.42 per hour. She does work a lot of hours (frankly too many for Clark's taste) but even working a 10 hour day she's just making $34.20 per day. Then minus state tax, federal tax, social security tax (so she's still getting' money when she's 65) it comes out to $21.92 per day... how's she supposed to live on that?  ?? I think Lois would probably have been ashamed to bring Superman to "her place"at 8.... Lois would have been standing outside in the cold by her raggedy ol' cardboard box hoping Superman wouldn't judge her modest accommodations. However maybe Lois would decide to expand her "place" by putting TWO cardboard boxes side-by-side? |

Well stop judging Lois Lane for living in a cardboard box... after all when Lana Lang moved to Metropolis in SIII, she and her illegitimate son promptly took up residence in a dumpster!  |
