It just hit me that the subway scene in Superman 4 is really the only time we see Superman doing anything "normal" outside the whole world peace schtick in 4.
I always just re-watch the subway scene in 4 because we get to see a regular Superman... THEN the crap newk-you-ler missiles worl' peace nonsense come in and doesn't f'ing let up.
I like to pretend that after the Subway rescue Clark gets to the Daily Planet and Warfield isn't even there and it's business as usual.
Who else thinks the Subway scene of Superman 4 stands alone as a nice regular sequence of Superman that was SORELY lacking in the rest of the political movie.

Probably Manahem Golan, as originally that section alone was going to be used as Superman 5, with stock footage to fill in the rest of the 90 minutes....

It's not a great scene for me. The EXCELLENT cardboard flying FX are spoiled because the extras on the platform are looking entirely the wrong way as Supes swoops past the camera. Superman V should have been evil Superman moping around down-town Milton Keynes in the gloom and drizzle, beating up hotdog vendors for 188 minutes.
