When you really think about it.. the world was just fine with a nuclear deterrence policy ensuring world peace.
That sack of crap Jeremy didn't realize that nuclear countries don't even go to war with each other so we should be encouraging a nuclear arms race.
Once Jeremy got involved with his sissy letter to Superman the whole world gets on edge thinking their nukes, their ONLY means to ensure their security, gets taken away and a nuclear war nearly breaks out.
After Superman's speech to the UN I think Superman took Jeremy into outer space and killed him for his insolence in writing the letter.

But how do you explain why Superman flew Lacey around without a spacesuit in outer space?

Your angle on nuclear arms is valid. What about :
After Nuclear Man scratches Jeremy up with his fake nails, Superman keeps NM alive and drags him around the world on a leash like a captive bear, a cautionary tale about the sins of nuclear technology. So NM ends up a sort of modern day Christ, but instead of being crucified once, he gets kicked in the balls by Jeremy every day for the rest of his life. The question is how to end such a movie ?

This thread is spinning so nutty, I question my participation, but, considering how quiet this place is... why not? Ok- easy question to answer- For Superman IV, whenever there's a question on what to put in- you put in 'that shot' of cardboard Superman flying right at you.

No, Superman goes back to Jeremy's school, throws him in a sack and takes him to Don's Diner. Then Superman commands Rocky to kick Jeremy in the nuts for 2 hours straight while Nuclear Man uses his powers to fry up some minute steak for everyone while they witness this boy's corporal punishment.
