Lana received a huge diamond ring from Clark that was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
How on Earth did Lana pay the tax on that on her meager secretary salary? The valuation of that ring was many, many times over the $10,000 annual gift tax exclusion of 1983.
Lana's tax obligation would have put her in the poor house and in debt to the IRS for the rest of her natural life.
Poor Ricky would have inherited his mother's tax burden as well.
Lana wasn't in Superman 4 because the Feds hauled her booty to prison for tax evasion.

Are you implying that the ring was more than a gift ? You're not suggesting services were rendered are you ? Then again, who would ever know ? I doubt Ricky wants to talk about what he saw before his mom cashed in.
If it was a tax dodge, I'd be interested to know how she managed to sell it. Seems unlikely she would know a fence who could move an item like that. I doubt Brad is well connected.

I can just imagine good ol' Brad getting a new job at the IRS and paying Lana a visit to collect!
He would probably "tax" her booty all day long!
In front of Ricky.

I just imagined that Lana was killed by the lotto/Jingo machine after Clark left the DP room at the end of SIII.
Poor little Ricky.

The jerk nearly made a mess in that poor farmer's wheat plow! Imagine the property damage that could have been incurred! The farmer should have pressed charges!
