Personally, I'd have to say Jon PInto's- (available for sale, too): jonpinto.storenvy.com/products/23315793-superman-40th-24x36-printThere was one other one, a long distance view of the helicopter rescue that unfortunately I can't find the link to. But- any other reccmmendations out there? (And I mean: your personal choice of the best of the best, or top few posters at this point)

That's a very nice poster. Is the helicopter one this one? I like this artwork I found a few years ago:

That's a very nice poster. Is the helicopter one this one? Is that Non practicing his X-ray vision? What do you see there, Non?

The other poster IS nice. An aside- ran into Jon Pinto at Wondercon & bought his 11x17 poster- great guy, was happy to support his work on top of the art being great. He has a variant that he's bringing to a Superman convention soon, but any remainders he said will go on sale on his site, then when they're gone, they're gone.

Any idea what the variant will be like for the poster you posted? The helicopter poster is by Matt Ferguson. I believe it's sold out, as it was released a couple fo years ago. There is an article here where you can see the poster and the variant. io9.gizmodo.com/this-classic-superman-movie-poster-is-simply-super-1775854026He also did this one which is nice. I like it more than the helicopter rescue one. Superman looks off in it to me, I think the poster without him might actually work better. These 2 by J C Richard are also very nice, both sold out though.

These 2 by J C Richard are also very nice, both sold out though. Those are AWESOME. Thanks for sharing! It's funny (in a sad way) how the official merch isn't NEARLY as great as stuff done by fans. I also wonder if the low print run for these things is due to licensing (one Star Wars artist at a convention said he had a license/written agreement how many units he could sell)- or - if an artist is trying to 'fly under the radar'- or - if it's a case where it's 'the grey zone' (one prominent DC artist I spoke to said that DC was fine with him selling his prints at conventions and look the other way, but let it be known to him NOT to do mail order sales as it crossed a line with them). Anyhow- I'm trying to figure out how to upload a thumbnail - but basically the variant has two smaller images - below Superman- one of Supes as a toddler, emerging from the ship, with another image of Clark as a teen holding the crystal. The down side is: only 40 units are being made!!!! There's no way this doesn't sell out at the convention. If he has any left, he's said it goes on sale on the website. *sigh* (I did plead with Jon Pinto in person to do a Superman 2 poster sequel, and he had a good laugh- but I was semi-serious.) One other fan art poster (Will see if I can track down the link- was a metallic reflective poster that was a photoshop of all the characters in the movie)... its been awhile, will see what I can do later after work...

Right click the image yo want to post, and select copy image location. Then in the reply, click the insert image button, it looks like a picture in a frame. Then paste the url in the box. I think you're right about the limited runs. I know Tyler Stout does low run posters for the Alamo Drafthouse that go for big money on the secondary market. All sorts of licensees used, but I guess they don't make enough to cause them a problem. Don't know why Pinto found the idea of Superman 2 so amusing, I thought it was still pretty popular. Here is a variant of the fortress poster I posted:

Here is a variant of the fortress poster I posted: Thanks Booshman! Will try it now- Pinto was great, I'm not sure why he thought it funny (maybe he spent a lot of time just finishing STM at this point?)- but I was kind of hoping that he was going to say one was already in mind. Here (hopefully) is the variant image. I'm not sure which I like better, but will try to grab it if there are any leftover... Edit: ug, no luck. Ok, put it in a facebook post- Here is the link to the thumbnail- www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10213920856468281&set=a.10203639891330578.1073741826.1015291913&type=3&theater

Superman after having his powers restored.

Here are a couple I like. There’s one with Brando sort of off to the side that I like but I can’t find it anywhere.

Reeve leaving as Superman before filming of the Supergirl movie starts.

No THIS is a great Stamp! I know Metallo will fight me tooth and nail on this but the above pic of Donner Zod looks INFINITELY better than this Lester Zod:

Is the one with Brando you mentioned this one? Nah. I like that one too but the one I’m thinking of has him on the right facing forward I think. It might have had a Zod on the other side with Superman in the center with other cast members peppered around.

Not the one I was talking about but I like this one That one IS really nice! I don't care for it. I don't like that Clark is shown as bigger than Superman. Also Miss. Teichmacher's cleavage shown on this makes it unsuitable and highly inappropriate for children. Also Jimmy's hair is parted the wrong way.

Parted on the wrong side- and Lex's hair is a little funky.... but other than that, I like it.

Parted on the wrong side- and Lex's hair is a little funky.... but other than that, I like it. And Superman's arm looks freakishly long. Also, 1/2 of Lex's face is glowing green... is he supposed to be two-face. This is literally the worst thing i've ever seen

Though it's very well done, I find the Superman 4 promo pic of Clark distracting on a STM poster. Also, Crown is right about Jimmy, it's a promo shot but flipped the wrong way. Edit: Actually I retract what i said, the more i looks at it the more is wrong with it. Hackman is a flipped image, but the hair has been altered. And kidder has her body the right way, but her face is composited from another shot and flipped. She is made from these 2 pictures, and as a result the angle of her head turn looks weird.

I think the general composition is very nice, but it definitely has things that could be touched up. Would have been nice if the 3-d movie logo was at the bottom and/or there was a way to also include the criminals into the picture.
