So, in checking some animated shows on HBO Max...
I haven't been checking out all the animated DC movies- but recently checked out the Super-sons animated- and found the Superman portion in the beginning having a distinct 'Donner' flavor.... and made me think of a number of scenes with Superman and his son as something that might have happened in a later sequel by Donner, had he been trusted to be the caretaker of the Superman movie series way back when.
Not sure if the budgets have gotten bigger, but it feels that way with this movie- whether it's more efficient integration of 3d or not- but this straight to dvd movie feels more expensive than the previous dc films.
Anyhow- especially for members of the forum, very recommended.

I want to watch it but haven’t gotten around to it. The 3D animation style turned me off a bit. If anything I feel the DC Animated movies have gotten even cheaper looking since they launched a new universe with Superman: The Man of Tomorrow animated movie.

The style chosen definitely makes a big difference. I actually really liked the style- and the classic costume definitely helped me make the decision to purchase it. I did end up checking out some of the other animated stories- and was pleasantly suprised in some cases. But... mainly on streaming. I'm not sure I want to purchase all of these.
