I've decided to start a Superman Manips thread here and anyone can post any manips of Superman, be it Routh, Welling, Reeve, anyone you want. Some people put some good time into doing these and they can come out with some pretty good results. So let the fun and debating begin lol. Here's one of my first Manips I've ever did. This was like 7 years ago and when I was interested seeing Welling in the costume. I completely forgot about this manip and even lost it.. I found it the other night while searching google and found it on a couple movie sites, so that was pretty cool. Now while I think he's matured so much since the start of Smallville, I think with the right script and director he could do a decent Superman. But for right now Routh is the main man. Here's one of the first one's I've done of Routh with changes to the Costume. Then I ended up changing the head on it lol. I'll post the original for comparison. Here's some other ones I've done. I couldn't get the colors quite right with this one, being that it's night time and all the city lights. Here's the newest one that I did that I posted the other day in another thread. Now this one isn't a manip, but something I was doing for Veris. You all know that he was going to redo his fan cut. Well Veris asked if I would be able to come up with poster/DVD Cover for his Superman II: The Verisimilitude Cut. This is what I did. I'll prolly still do more tweaking with it as I learn new things on Photoshop, but for the most part it's pretty much all done. Hopefully someday we'll get to see his new version of his cut. Take care Veris and hope your doing well. Due to the size of this, I'm putting it up as Thumbnail so people can click on it and see it full size. Just incase anyone is still on dial up it won't take forever to load the thread. It's about a 1mb file.

Here's the newest one that I did that I posted the other day in another thread. Wow. Now that's a great flying shot. Was this an official promo shot? I really thought the WB marketing team dropped the ball with the promo shots for SR. They looked overly posed and lacked any artistic vision. Compare that to the awesome promo art for the Spider-man movies and it's easy to see why SR posters and other memorabilia didn't exactly fly off store shelves.

Sad thing is, I can't tell if that's a real picture of Routh or if it's CGI Routh.

A computer generated Routh? I don't believe you.

Sad thing is, I can't tell if that's a real picture of Routh or if it's CGI Routh. I think it's CGI Supes. Personally, I love this shot. He looks all pissed off. Here is a manip using that same shot. But just to clarify, I didn't make any of these manips. I have no idea how. ;D This is the original shot, I think, ;D

One positive about Routh's Clark is he has the sense to not use that Power Rangers mentality of dressing in the same color clothes as his superhero id. ;D

You know, that outfit REALLY doesn't suit Brandon well... it looks wrong on him somehow, IMO. I think Brandon looks way better in the real Superman suit.

LOL!
To be fair, we've never actually scene Welling in the suit. Just in manips. Some are bad and some are really good. I'll try to post some good Welling manips later.

I imagine he's fill the suit out pretty good.. but his face doesn't seem right for Superman. Does he remind anyone else of a skinny Oliver Platt? www.imdb.com/name/nm0001624/

Well the pictures there don't really point out the similarities, I'm thinking of a younger Oliver Platt. They both have similar eyes.

Maybe, I don't see it. Maybe others do.
About Welling, I don't know, maybe it's just my HDTV. But, in some scenes he looks constipated. Is 31 too young for botox injections?

Welling is just about 32. He is now just a couple years younger than Christopher Reeve in Superman IV. ;D
And he's still effectively playing Superboy. HA!

He is turning 32 this year. Dear God, I'm getting old.
Jim, have you notice the constipated look too?

I haven't seen any of season 8, but in pictures, the age is starting to show.

He's going to be 33 and still playing Superboy. LOL!
I just posted some season nine news on the SV thread.
Every now and then he gets this wrinkly loose skin on his forehead. Kinda like he's thinking and wanting to poop at the same time.

I imagine he's fill the suit out pretty good.. but his face doesn't seem right for Superman. AGREED. I found this very realistic looking manip a few days ago that ilustrates this very well, IMO: And I have to say that I think this is a poor pic of Brandon, btw. Still, he makes Welling look like a boy in comparison, IMO.

BINGO! That's it! CORNFUSED LOOK!
That manip doesn't work for me. Welling just looks way too young there. It's probably a pic from the first couple of seasons. That said, Brandon's pic doesn't work for me either.
