actually , all kidding aside i always have thought that ross' superman DID look like a lend of reagan and george reeves . but alex ross' politics make e think he isnt actaully a fan of the gipper but i dont care , ross is an uber-talent and i dont htink he overly inserts politics into his work ( except of course for the obama -worship in that poster , his comics seem apolitical ) as for sleutron , he can HAVE obama for all i care - and yeah he's entitled to his opinion but its annoying for him to suggest that obama winning means that everything is rosey and wonderful just because.... and to suggest that NOW we need a superman movie as opposed to a year ago when dubya was stillpres... he can whiz up a rope. i'd like to see what he did with a fancut , as his politics are beside the point when it comes ot the restoration of SII>

A person that's in "the know" mentioned his meetings with WB never happened. But you're being as vague as Seultron. I'm not sure why some people are convinced he's full of hot air now. If he really is trying to do something official with WB, it could be years before we actually see the fruits of his efforts.

Here we go again: I somehow miss everything.
What is this Selutron situation that has invaded this thread?

About Selutron (and then I'll leave it alone): At least he made some clips hi-res enough to enjoy and include in other fan cuts. If he's intentionally lying about a meeting with Warners -or- if he's just exaggerating a real email or such... well, since he's trying to get people to back him up officially--- that's not too cool. But I love all the fan cuts I've seen so far, in different capacities. More the better imo. About Ron Reagan's similiarities: I actually would point to Fred MacMurray, the actor who was the model for Captain Marvel in the 1930's- www.cinemaforever.com/CF_Fred_MacMurray.htmlIt's totally possible that Ross may have used Reagan as an inspiration, but I think Siegel and Shuster may or may not have used Fred MacMurray unofficially first (the creator of Captain Marvel out and out said that Fred was, but hadn't researched whether or not Seigel and Shuster ever made any suggestion--- so it's just a guess on my part). And... when I think of Reagan, I really think of the movie he did with a monkey, rather than having the idea of Superman come to mind. But that's me....

I don't think Selutron would achieve anything by lying, I think he probably did meet Warner Bros. If Dharmesh has met him and seen his cut then he has a good reference IMO. I do however have to agree that the political advertisement on Superman Cinema's website was way over the top and deserved no such web space on a site dedicated to Superman on film. There is a feeling of "New labour" about it.

The 80's were a great time to be alive. It was a more simpler time that I too miss.

The 80s were great. It spawned most of my favorite movies and songs. The only thing that really sucked was the hair.

The 80s were great. It spawned most of my favorite movies and songs. The only thing that really sucked was the hair. Exactly. The hair is laughed at NOW ,but at the time it was cool! The Big Hair was reflective of the Times, it was the BIG 80s (like the VH1 program) because everything seemed Larger than Life. Both Actors had great Hair (Reeve's Superman hair anyway) and Reagan and Reeve both passed away in 2004.....
