Thank Sebas; I honestly pray that we will get to see The Green Light, and that Warner Bros. does what is right.
I've signed, all I can do now is wait.

i can`t get the link to work? ? take the comma out at the end of the link.. it got thrown in there so it's not working. It'll work after you remove the comma Sebastian, good job with the site and good luck.. hope WB will see that they can do some good business with a Bryan Singer cut, and maybe it might show WB that there is a demand for SR and might rethink the whole reboot thing and give us the sequel that we want. Keep up the good work Sebastian. cheers!............

The film needs to be colour corrected and all the artificial grain be removed. The photography lets the film down big time..Thats what i would want with this new cut and of course the krypton sequence.

Artificial grain can be OK if applied properly.
But it makes me wonder, why add grain to a digitally shot movie? Why not just shoot on film in the first place?

I thought that was just digital noise, especially evident in dark scenes.

No, Singer added artificial grain to the movie. That's why it looks like crap on non-high def formats.
I have no idea why Singer didn't use actual film. It would have looked epic if it were shot on 70 mm film.

He likes to jump around in the way his films are shot.
Usual Suspects - Super35 Apt Pupil - Super35 X-Men - Anamorphic X2 - Super35 Superman Returns - 1080p/24 Digital Valkyrie - Super35 (Matted to 1.85)

Wasn't STM shot in 70mm? To be fair I don't know why more movies are shot this way instead of HD. I know its expensive but the PQ is unmatched. The only way I can see a benefit to using a digital HD Camera is VFX because it allows them to get it done quicker and easier, I think Mr Lucas said this but it doesn't mean its better.

STM was in anamorphic 35mm. Superman II and III use 65mm on a lot of the background plates for the zoptic shots.
If you watch alot of the flying shots in STM he backgrounds do look very grainy because at the time it was hastily done on 35mm and the crew not really knowing what they were shooting but just covered enough shots to complete the SFX.
SR from what i read was that Singer quickly fiddled with the final image adjusting colour etc. I think it hurt the movie. Superman needs vibrant contrast not muddy browns and yellows.
Hey Jim Im sure Xmen was in Super35. Does actually look really nice for Super35 especially the snow sequence where wolverine encounters sabertooth.

Interesting, still I think STM anamorphic 35mm looks very impressive compared to a lot of movies today, especially in blu-ray.
I think I know what you mean about Singer changing the colour last minute. When you look at the old trailers for SR and their various shots (especially the sneak peak rooftop scene of Supes flying away from Lois) you can see how vibrant the colours are.
Here's one of the old teaser trailers:
EDIT: Just found something else. This is apparently the plane rescue scene from SR from Sony Imageworks before the colour filters were applied:

That's extraordinarily disappointing. GOD it's so vibrant and colorful. Ugh, why did they need to fix it?
Is that a different take of Superman flying over the city before going into space? I don't recall it in the movie, him flying with one arm overlooking Metropolis before going into the clouds?

God, that teaser trailer...
I remember seeing that before one of them Harry Potter flicks. Barely paid attention to the movie.

That whole scene of him flying over the city and through the clouds is not in the movie and looks like some of the best flying shots that they did! Why did they even cut that out? It looked amazing!

Hey kev and Keith that scene you mentioned of him flying over the city is in the film but so fucking dark you can't see a thing.. On blu ray you can just about make out whats going on..

They need to re release the film on DVD and Blu Ray with out that last minute color corrections. Those clips were nice and bright and the way it should have been in the first place.
WB.. release the directors cut with all scenes and the without the color corrections that Bryan did at the last minute!! I'd pay to get this on DVD and Blu Ray.

Yeah I agree. While it does look better in blu-ray in terms of colour and definition over DVD, it still could look even better.
By the way, if you want to know how SR would look in HD without filters, watch the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, it practically uses the same camera, being a digital HD Panavision camera too. So when you look at that, that's pretty much how the PQ probably would've looked without filters.

Extraordinarily.
Yipes, a Superman Returns Director's Cut with all the full intended scenes in there, color corrected and not filtered or whatever on DVD and BluRay would be the bee's knees!

NO!!! Film was overlong as it is. Should be reedited from scratch other than plonk in missing scenes hoping it'd work better. Christ.
Maybe the missing scenes just don't work and they were cut for a reason...?
