I like March of the Villains, but Luthor's theme in SR fits him far better IMO. Indeed. Hey............I like that theme. Dum-dum-da-dum. Dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum. But then again, as we have established, I'm not a very good Superman fan. So what do I know. Exaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaactly. I shall now hear March of the Villains in my head everytime I read one of your posts ;D

I want fresh everything: New themes, new actor, new director, new everything. . The John Williams music has to stay. Regardless of anything else, that music is too important. It's like the James Bond theme. 007 directors and actors come and go, but the theme music is bigger than all of them. Nothing wrong with embracing new ideas. I love the Reeve Superman theme, but music is an infinite language, another composer can come up with a theme we can all hum to for another generation of fans. Why stifle creativity?

Oh man...I want to see those "doubters" that believed Batman 3 wasn't going to get made. ;D
Great news for Superman too. It's in the right hands and it's a sure fire that it will get made.
Hm, first draft of the script now. It's definitely not coming in the summer of 2011....maybe Christmas?

Coming late into the game...
Woulda preferred WB & Singer do MOS, but...
Having Nolan is a great second choice if that can't happen, but by all means, keep Routh and Williams. The odds of finding another person who can follow in Reeve's footsteps and give off the same vibe is pretty remote.
I'm shocked to hear some fans call for new music/new theme/new everything? There are plenty of other superhero characters out there=== Williams I agree is the way to go, Ottman went the best way, I thought in adding to rather than replacing what Williams had.
Nolan has said he's not a comic book guy--- but brought Goyer in because of it. Smart. If Nolan does the same, he should be fine--- though a dream scenario for me would be that Nolan and SInger see eye to eye on things, and Nolan produces with SInger directing, Routh starring.
Also, Nolan has said that he loved Donner's STM and roughly looked to that as a model for Batman Begins.
No matter what, I definitely have more faith in Nolan than Supes returning to limbo or in the hands of J.J. Abrams....

It still seems too good to be true. It took them 19 years to get SR out and now they're gonna fast track a new movie in the next year or two? I don't know...
I guess the real question now is who is going to direct and will Routh return? If they are going for a complete reboot, I guess it wouldn't make sense to have Routh returning.

Well it seems WB may have been looking at several options over the past 3 years. Doesn't mean they were not working on Superman, it's just they didn't have a specific project lined up to focus on. It may have been a simple "Let's ask Nolan what he thinks we should do." and then Nolan may have said "Let me see what I can do".
If Nolan is able to make the next Superman movie a mega hit and Inception does well, he'll probably end up being as powerful at WB as Speilberg used to be at Universal.

Oh man...I want to see those "doubters" that believed Batman 3 wasn't going to get made. ;D My doubts were mainly about WB dragging their feet. It took them a year and a half to give us any kind of news. I for one am excited about all of this.

Meh, If Brandon is not playing the main role, I just DON'T care or give a damn about another Superman movie. Can't help it.

Same here. I was almost sure there wouldn't be another Nolan Batman. The Superman thing is just a bonus.

It's easier to say you want the next Batman movie more than the next Superman movie because you'll know exactly what you'll get and who you'll get it with. Not so with Superman.
The next Batflick will clearly be all about redemption.

How odd that it should end this way for us after so many stimulating encounters. I almost regret it. Where shall I find a new adversary so close to my own level?
Sorry. That line always pops in my head whenever I see your avatar below mine.

You know, you two guys are very much alike. You're just a shadowy reflection of Kev. It would only take a nudge to make him like you.

I'm going to be optimistic about this.
Routh was the one element that seemed to get the most praise from SR, so I think/hope he'll return. Singer... well, it'd be great if he could return, and he would more than likely produce a movie with more emotional depth than one without him, but who knows, maybe we'll get a Nick Meyer situation out of whoever directs this next one. As for Williams... you know what, as long as we get a SCORE (not Zimmer-ish droning), I'll be satisfied.
Nolan's a smart guy, I think he'll be a step in the right direction.

ATP, now you're getting nasty.
And I want Singer back, too. heck, I want him to direct the fucking thing. He's an incredible director, and with a better crew (people telling him to focus on the movie he's making instead of other movies or meth) he could make one amazing goddamn Superman movie that would make EVERYONE here say, "Wow."

So are you implying he didn't try hard enough last time?
With all the resources he had, there was no excuse for that film not to be better.
