Is Routh a pot smoker? His eyes are constantly red... ! I dont think he smokes. But I think he wears contacts/glasses, and his eyes are probably very sensitive. I've seen pics of him and his wife infraganti, and it looked like he had just gone to the eye doctor.

Yep, contacts do make your eyes itch. That's why I had lasik!
It could also be allergies. God knows LA has some pretty bad air pollution, so that could be it as well.
If Nolan announces Routh is still Superman, man, that will be a very geeky day for most of us.
Geekgasm!

I just watched the making of SR three-hour documentary again last night. Man, that is the best making of featurette I've seen for any movie. Everything is laid out from before Singer was hired by WB to the last day of filming. It really made me appreciate how hard they tried to put out a Superman movie worthy of everyone's expectations. Very bittersweet to watch knowing it fell short. Poor Routh. He gets plucked from obscurity to the national spotlight, then goes right back to obscurity again. Only with a lot of fanboys upset with him like he somehow ruined the franchise. He gets Superman even better than Reeve did but Routh just didn't have any input on anything. Here's my favorite quote from him from 2008 when it looked like a SR sequel was in the works;
CS: What sides of Superman and Clark Kent are you excited about exploring in the sequel?
Routh: Well, I think that something that audiences are looking for – and I certainly am, too – is for Superman to actually be able to lay a punch on someone or something. I was filming and I thought, "I haven't really hit anything. I feel like I'm going to need to let some of this anger out." So I'm happy that I think that's going to be a central part of the sequel, getting a good villain that we can actually have physical altercations with. Certainly also, I'd like more humor from Clark or just more of Clark and Jimmy. A little bit more of Lois and Clark, how we used to see them, a bit more of buddies. Perhaps things will be smoothed over with Superman and Lois and she can afford to be a little bit nicer to Clark. I think that's something that people want to see and those are some of the great moments from previous "Superman" films. Also, Superman and Lois getting together, that's always my end goal. I want that to happen. The romantic in me wants that to happen eventually whether they're finally together in this movie or in whatever future films there might be. I kind of want to see that happen.

Routh has the right ideas. I hope Nolan is seriously considering Routh for his Superman flick.

Wow, this vid is awesome!
Legsy, you really wanna see this, it's a Brandon/Erika as Supes/Lois vid. They do have some nice chemistry going on, imo. And I like Kate.

The best Lois nowadays. It is gonna be hard to match this couple in the next flick huh... Makes me imagine that SR with Erica Durance would be at least outstanding despite the downer script.

Wow, nice video. I'm impressed. The black & white allows all the scenes to mesh really well. Pretty intense Lois there at the end though. I really like the song choice as well; I've been a fan of it since it was in last season's "Smallville" episode "Bride." And Routh could have Durance as Lois as far as I'm concerned. Then Allison Mack could be the Lois of "Smallville" I want her to be. Routh/Durance really might have made for a better pairing than Routh/Bosworth though. At least Durance has some personality (too much as times IMO). She could have injected some much needed charisma into SR's rather flat portrayal.

Holy shit! That WAS really good. Erica's Lois rules, indeed. It would be awesome to see Routh and her in a Superman flick.

WOW! Shocked. I really COULDN'T imagine Erica Durance having chemistry with Routh--- but after this video, I'm pleasantly surprised to be wrong.
On the flip side, hard to watch SR now with the idea stuck in my head.

Well, I like both Kate and Durance as Lois.
They just played a different type of Lois in a different stage of her life. That counts too.
I think Kate did well with what she was given to with with in SR, which a lot of people didn't like BECAUSE they wanted something different for Lois. Her storyline wasn't what they expected. She wasn't happy or romantic towards Supes or nice to Clark most of the time either. But Superman Returns wasn't about what happens when a super being and a human woman fall in love, it was about what happens after all of that. It was a bittersweet story, and I love and appreciate it for what it is. Kate made a believable mother too, imo. I know, I'm one.
But I agree with one thing, Durance seem to have more spunk and more personality, but Kate is prettier and better actress overall. But that's me.
Oh, another thing, it could have helped Kate's portrayal a lot more if they have given her a more sexy look (wardrobe and hair style). And she was too skinny. But she definitely had more potential.

And I agree she got the nurturing mother aspect down (which is impressive with her being so young). The "Are we trespassing?"/"No...yes." exchange is one of my favorites of the film. ...but Kate is prettier and better actress overall. I'm not Durance's #1 fan or anything, but I've got to disagree on both counts. Erica is much better looking than Kate, and I've seen nothing is Bosworth's body of work that proves she's a better actress. I'd say if anything they're on the same level. Has Spacey not recommended Bosworth for the part I doubt she'd have gotten it.

Did Spacey recommend her or was she a condition of his involvement?
