Great story. Happy for you, Kev. Your words sound genuine and I bet Singer picked up on that. They suss the fakers out quite easily.

Yeah, I was on cloud nine. I honestly did get a little bit of a talking to, though, about not to take advantage of my position, so that sorta sucked, but eh...it was worth it. I don't feel like I did anything to take advantage of, other than putting the drawing between two of my sketch comedy show's postcards for protection. I mean, I counted on him taking the drawing, looking at it and saying, "Wow, cool, thanks, man!" and walking out. That's all I figured would happen.
I doubt anything will come of it, but who knows, if he comes in enough, we could end up decent acquaintances. I mean, fuck, Sam Shepard and I have been giggling about women's volleyball for the past week. I'm pretty sure he knows me as "That dude at that bar that loves women's volleyball player's asses as much as I do."

Yeah, but what you did will stay with you for life. When you're making a living on stage you can go back and tell your boss to go screw himself.

Yeah, fuck it, gotta take a chance sometimes. Even if nothing happens, I still met the dude, but shit, he at least knows about my sketch comedy now.

Kev, class story. Since we missed each other in NY last summer, next time i'm over, probably Feb 2013 i'm going to that restaurant for food and you're sitting me in the best place in the house. I'll tip well haha. Sounds like a cool place too! Delighted for ya.

Fuck that, I'll take you upstairs to the bar that not many people know about. No sign is outside. It's one of those kinds of places. That's where the big timers go. It'll be fun.

It sounds like Singer's reaction was a lot like his video reaction to that parody video from another thread. Good to know he's genuine. ;D

It seems our feelings about superman returns can be as fickle as bryan singers attitude toward future films... ;D
Excellent play there kev.

Oh, just because I hate a lot about the movie doesn't mean I don't love it to death. And yeah, I gotta say, reading his eyes and his face and by his voice, he was completely genuine. I was taken back by how friendly and inviting he was.

Oh, just because I hate a lot about the movie doesn't mean I don't love it to death. i'm EXACTLY the same. sometimes i watch it (and we watch it often) and think: ". ..it's beautiful...how could i want it to be anything other than what it is?" and other times: ".. .FUCK! why the fuck are they doing it this way?"i'm fickle as shit about it. well.....you ARE charming as all heck.

I've always thought it mostly brilliant... but...
#1: more superhero action would NOT have hurt the film one bit (nor the superhero battle that Dougherty mentioned he wanted for the first film), imo....
#2: the vague sequel continuity was a little irritating in moments, but only a few moments.
And many of the scenes were AMAZING imo. Not necessarily as a superhero action film, but a beautiful looking and sounding romantic fantasy film with a dark edge imo. In watching it again tonight, made me groan about the lack of a sequel that I think would have made everybody happy.....

I saw Ted. And I felt bad for Brandon. Imagine being him in the cinema watching it and people recognise him then the whole few mins of Superman bashing! Like it was his fault!!Then again, he was the face of the franchise.

He can't be too bad off, as I just saw him in a comercial for a new fall sitcom on NBC. Well, I guess it could get cancelled after a few weeks. So he might be hard up for a Dylan Dog direct-to-DVD sequel. Anyone see that, by the way? I saw it on Netflix streaming, got through about 30 minutes then turned it off to watch Magnum P.I.

say what you want but he mostly speaks the truth.
Bosworth a lump of wood, Routh (although I thought he did well) just impersonating Reeve and it feeling like a bit of a forgery

Routh did his own thing with the role as well (Reeve never played it that introspective and with doubt for the whole film))...but it seems like when that happened people bitched. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. It wasn't really his performance the material just didn't give him enough to play with. Gerard Christophers Superboy was influenced by Reeve's Superman as well.
MOST (if not all) Supermen can essentially be divided into two camps anyway. Half of them built on what Bud Collyer did and the other half built on what George Reeves did. Even Reeve was essentially doing Bud Collyers act. The material just gave him more. At the core Cain was doing what Reeves did with more focus on the personal life (and without even half the charisma). L&C even remade Panic In The Sky WITH Cain.
Daly was good but when you get down to bass tacks it was similar to what Reeves did. The material dictated more of difference than anything.
The only person that looked to really be breaking out of those two molds was Nic Cage. I doubt even Cavill reinvents the wheel. He'll probably play it somewhere between Collyer and Reeves with some extra angst and drama thrown in. Even his hairstyle looks like George Reeves.
