The only thing that could hurt 3-D is the small amount of screens dedicated to screening 3-D movies in the cinemas. Though the cinema chains would probably up the ante as it becomes more popular.
At the moment though it's affecting the box office potential for movies, like Avatar (didn't it make enough money???) James Cameron has said that it could have made EVEN MORE if it didn't have to make way for Alice In Wonderland.
I also hate the way that studios are half-heartedly making their movies 3-D to fit in with the craze, Clash of the Titans 3-D transfer is meant to be very poor and undermines what the 3-D experience is all about.
I hope the new Superman movie is in 3-D, I wish they'd release Superman - the movie in 3-D, the rocket chase, trip to Earth and Superman's first reveal in the Fortress of Solitude would be AMAZING, coming right at ya!!
Plus, any excuse to see Superman again on the BIG SCREEN ould be aces.

Agreed 1000%!
Cameron's come out and said openly that he was concerned about the quality of the 3-D movies that will come out. If they have the right amount of attention and care put into it, it could be good for both audiences and box office- but if they just slop it out (as they seem to be doing right now), Cameron was worried that the whole 3-d trend could die a lot faster than he would like.
Of films that WOULD benefit greatly from it: I agree- STM would ROCK in3D.
On another note: Now that there will be a new Superman movie greenlit, I wonder if there's ANYTHING that's going to be considered or pushed for a new SII cut of SOME sort, as well to tie into the new film later on.

I agree with CAM. Since Warners only goes back to revisit the old films when a new one comes out, I SERIOUSLY hope they consider giving S2 another chance.

Well, Mr. Vaughan, if your buddy Millar directed Superman, we'd feel the same way. Of course it was a sequel, you idiot!

Vaughn supposedly also was going to make Xmen 3 'more intelligent' than what Singer had done- before he used his wife and kids as the excuse to bow out at the last second for X3. (His wife turned around and said that it wasn't them, but other reasons he cut out).
Vaughn did "Stardust" which was good--- but nothing close to being a great film. "Kickass" might be a fun film, but I think Vaughn has to realize that he's fooling himself if he thinks for a second that he's a better director than Singer.

The way he was talking was like he was Frank Darabont or Stephen Speilberg or something. Funny thing is, if I asked 98% of cinema goers they wouldn't have a clue who he is yet he talks like people should and saying "Singer is a great director" makes it look like he's approval is what matters.
Singer is a fantasitc director. He missed it with SR but I still love SR! I wish he were allowed his sequel. He does addmit he missed the mark with it but I think a re-edited version of it would be brilliant. Something like ADM's, the Krypton sequence included and a but of editing wold have made a far superior film.

Have to agree that it needed more focus
Editing let it down more than anything IMO

Colorful and fun.
With SR being a disappointment in the eyes of the suits, I'm expecting a fun movie. Bright, colorful, and fun.

Yep, directed Kandor this season. One of the best of the entire series in my honest opinion.

That's what I meant by semi-retirement, bring him back into films again. Though, with my tongue firmly in cheek.
Seriously though, he made some good films, Bug, Somewhere I Time, Jaws 2 (not a bad sequel), Santa Claus, just recently reappraised Supergirl, he even made a damn decent WW2 movie, Enigma.
I don't watch Smallville, so wasn't aware he was directing tv.

From Christopher Nolan and David Goyer? It (hopefully) will be great..... but bright, colorful, and fun is hard to find in either Nolan or Goyer's film resume. Really not sure what to expect, given that Nolan and Goyer's films are as dark/darker than Singer's films. If one said that Robert Zemeckis was sheperding Superman, then I could see that description. But... We'll all see soon enough, I suppose.

I can't remember if it was Goyer or Nolan who said it wasn't going to be another Batman. I need to look for it.
