I've seen wires during the helicopter rescue. I've seen that a million times and never spotted something. Is this because of HD? I thought if a wire is painted out that it is impossible to see it... unless you're talking about shots in-camera where the darkness is supposed to camouflage... but even then, were cinema screens back in 1978 the equivalent of HD resolution? What am I missing here? If in fact the wires are visible due to the higher res, then I say it's a technical and artistic responsibility to erase them. Why? To preserve the original intentions of the director. Donner never intended for wires to be seen. Ever.

I noticed when he caught the helicopter on the longer shot. Look just above him. I picked up the habit from Superman IV, lol

Wires definitely have to go for sure. It's like watching a film that is not complete,like watching a lightsabre dual without the colors or sound. Would kinda spoil it for ya'.
