"Today brought both good and bad news for fans of Straczynski's work. DC announced on its Source Blog this afternoon that, because of the huge sales success of Earth One, Straczynski will be refocusing his attention onto the Earth One franchise. This will result in at least one sequel graphic novel, again penned by Straczynski and drawn by Shane Davis."
I enjoy a lot of Stracynski's work- if only for it's ambition. Succeed or fail, I always get that Stracynski tried to make something more than just something for his paycheck.
Having said that, Superman: Grounded in concept intrigued me..... but the execution has me bored, after a few issues. I'm also suprised that 16,000 units+ being sold for the book is considered a giant moneymaker in comics.
Didn't Spiderman #1 have three-quarters of a million copies out there for its reboot years ago?
Hmn..... how things have changed....

It seems reviews are really mixed with this book. You either love it or hate it, not much middle ground.

I would say that I am in the former category. While the book deviates from the traditional in quite a few ways, it is incredibly refreshing to read a fresh and new take on supes.
Though, the cardigan splash page is pretty bad. I hate that look, and lets hope they aren't afraid to have Clark in an actual suit in the sequel.

Question:
Hey Val, officially, is it supposed to be written:
Kal-El
or just
Kal El
?
Because I've seen it both ways.

As far as I'm concerned, it is officially,
Kal-El
I never write it any other way.
Wait...why are you asking ME this??? Are you going to to expect me to conjugate Kryptonian verbs as well? I DO get laid, you know!
