Hey all, Scroll down- Richard Donner will be at this festival to present/ Q & A for STM and SII!!!! events.latimes.com/herocomplexfilmfest/schedule/Would love to go, but driving to LA is out of my budget. On the other hand, if anyone else attends, maybe ask Donner about an extended cut of SII?

Me going to LA is like you going to NYC. It's another world away.

Here's crossing fingers that ONE attendee videotapes the Q&A and uploads it on youtube.
(Sad that the ONE presentation where Donner & Singer attended Comicon on the same panel, is nowhere to be found on youtube, whereas every other presentation at comicon is. *sigh*)

It'd be interesting to ask him whether he knows about Selutron's Cut and whether he is happy with the way the Donner cut was handled.

I'd much rather go to the Trek 2 screening with Nicholas Meyer.

If you check out the new blu-ray with the commentary by Nicholas Meyer and Manny Coto (the guy who gave "Enterprise" a great season 3 &4)---- you might change your mind. Nicholas Meyer gave a great commentary on the original Trek 2, and his book "View from a Bridge" is fun, but on that new commentary, you had Manny Coto incredibly enthused about every frame of the film, and Meyer sounding very.....bored. Hopefully he's not just there for the paycheck.....

I doubt Donner would ever say anything negative in public about Thau's cut. I'd definitely inquire about what fans can do to get an extended longer cut of the Donner cut, though--- although given that Donner didn't get paid (and apparently everyone else did) for his contribution to the Superman dvd sets, hard to say if Donner would want WB to make any more money off of his work.....
