Anyone here read this series. I am currently at the beginning of the 4th arc (around issue 21 I think). It is fantastic stuff. usually I am not into the supernatural in comics. The first arc (issues 1-8) are so fucking good, never read anything quite like it.

I am slowly buying all the issues before I read them. Yes, I know there are collections out there that would be easier to collect and read but I am a comic guy...I did the same thing with Preacher.

Believe the hype with Sandman. It doesn't really start cooking until that 4th collection, but holy fuck...when it does....
It rewards re-reads through the years. You can get all meta and obsessed with it and start tracking down all the literary and musical references and stuff, and that is a TOTALLY WORTHWHILE PURSUIT and is one of the few comic-related things that ever got me laid. Like, a bunch of times.

love the story where he went to heck to retrieve one of his items, & then they didnt want him to leave that place but subsequently he managed to win over the conversation & got his way out
