Based on Val's recommendation, I bought this. I haven't read it yet, but it changed his life, and going from other online reviews, it has done the same for many others.
The concept is FANTASTIC. I can't wait to read it. Morrison is fucking crazy.

"Changed his life"!?!?
Well...that's intriguing!

It just made me seek out a lot of other wacky non-comic shit, like the writings of Robert Anton Wilson, the TV show "The Prisoner" (now my favorite television show of all time) and some of the more out there conspiracy and UFO things. Plus, there's LOADS of cool music things hidden in there. It was because of references in The Invisibles that I sought out The Undertones (who's first album has become a potential desert island disc for me) or The Kinks' "Something Else By The Kinks".
It's kind of a bad-ass combination of ultra-violent super secret agent stuff, sci-fi, magic, drugs, all with this crazy punk rock attitude. So fucking good.

Sorry. Didn't wanna put words in your mouth, but eh, it's what you said.
Goddamn, that description alone makes me happy I bought it. Thick book, too! Won't be one I fly through.

Well, it sorta did. I got into lots of cool stuff and it led me to other cool things.

I'm reading this now. It's brilliant. I want more Morrison. What's his best?
