With all the bitching in here about the flaws, possibilities and what could have beens regarding Superman II, it's nice to see a well-written article that focuses on the positives.

Behind the scenes fiascos aside, Superman II is still a kickass movie and undeniably an influence on superhero films to this day.

It's nice to see the film---my personal favorite Superman film and tied with Star Wars as my all time favorite film---get some props for the things it did do right.

Superman III was a bad idea done well; Superman IV was a good idea done badly.

Undoubtedly. The reason I couldn't get into Spider-Man 2 when it came out was cuz I couldn't stop drawing parallels to Superman 2. The scene when Peter is back in the car with Uncle Ben (in his mind of course), and Ben says "Take my hand Peter", all I could think was "Wow, imagine if we had gotten this scene when it was originally filmed back in 1977" lol. Sure was nice 2 years later to see it when the Donner Cut finally came out.
