I'm a member of a Superman II fan group on Facebook and came across this interesting piece of information:
"Some of both Terence Stamp's and Sarah Douglas's lines were dubbed and overdubbed. So Sarah's voice is filtered with both her own and that of Annie Ross who went on to play Vera in Superman III. So, when you hear "You! What kind of a creature are you?" - that's more Annie's voice, yet at the end, "Release the General, or we'll tear her apart" - that's more Sarah's. It's because the film was so rushed in post-production to make it's release date after the reshoots with Richard Lester, that's why it sounds a little uneven in places"
He then goes on to say:
"Well, I only know it because I happen to know Sarah D......she told me a long time ago and we never discussed it again as I was told that they just did it and Sarah only found out when she first saw the film, she opened her mouth and someone else's voice came out. Needless to say, she wasn't happy that they had never had the manners to tell her. Which is quite understandable."
Now, I know there's no evidence to back this up but that 'What kind of a creature are you?' line does sound very much like Annie Ross.
If this is true, it's very interesting indeed.

Oh goodness. The amount of dubbing I've noticed between the 3 versions of S2 (including the RIC cut) is insane. even the deleted scenes on the dvd of the theatrical, which has Non killing the boy, has 2 completely different voices. Watch the RIC, then watch the deleted scene. The old lady's voice is completely different, and so is Ursa's. A while back I got into a discussion with someone on facebook about how Kidder's lines in the balcony scene in the DC were dubbed by someone else. At first I didn't believe him, but he told me the facts. They dubbed her voice, even though, like many other scenes, the original audio was already there in the RIC. They paid actors to do a completely unnecessary job. All I can say, once again, is damn you Thau. Damn you to heck!!  |

Apparently most of the women in the early Bond movies had their voices dubbed -- and by the same person too!

And the guy who voiced Largo in TB was the same guy who voiced "Blofeld" in FYEO I hate most of the dubbing/editing in the 60s Bonds too be honest Interesting about Kidder's line being redubbed. Does this mean I'm going to have to put it one someday to check that out?  |

And the guy who voiced Largo in TB was the same guy who voiced "Blofeld" in FYEO He was also Tiger Tanaka in YOLT, as well as the train conductor in FRWL who told Bond that Kerim Bey was dead. (Compare Tanaka saying, "You killed him" in YOLT and the conductor saying "They killed each other" in FRWL and you'll be able to tell it's the same guy.) |

Wow, they're right, it is Annie Ross. I always figured it was Sarah, only pitched down.
Is Zod all Terence Stamp? In the DC, Thau decided to dub the line "I trust you are not wasting my time, Lex Luthor" with someone else entirely, but in the RIC, it's Stamp, though not the 'menacing' Zod voice.

I love noticing the differences in Stamp's voice in his speech after Supes gives in and the FOS. The "Did you really think we would give up our advantage..." speech.

The dubbing over of Margo in TDC is jarringly annoying. Excellent scene,great dialogue badly dubbed by a shitty reading.
The RIC is just perfect!!!
