Steranko rocks.
He used to publish a comic/movie news magazine called "Mediascene" for quite awhile- the funny thing is, the news got dated quick, but the artistic layout of how the information was put out was always fresh and visually interesting.
It's a pity he didn't do more mainstream comics. I love the couple of issues he did for X-men and Captain America back in the day- gorgeous and unique stuff, that I still think is far more memorable from its design and layout than 99.9% of the stuff I've seen on shelf for years.

Yeah I love it when people push the form, and explore sequential art and all that it has to offer. It isn't just a narrated story.
McCloud's Understanding Comics is awesome. Especially the chapter exploring how time is and can be portrayed and utilized in sequential art.
