What are those stories about this wonderful character you enjoy the most and why? You can include any story from any media: comics, movies, cartoons, tv, etc. You can also include pics, vids, etc.

Although there have been many seasons of the George Reeves Superman, the two that stand out are: (1) the pilot episode- and- (2) actually an episode of "I Love Lucy" where George Reeves wasn't the star, but the way the 'Superman' episode was done (For those unfamiliar, the main character's husband has slim ties to Hollywood and tries to get George Reeves to come to her kid's birthday party as Superman)--- recalls the enthusiasm and energy of seeing the original tv show as a kid probably moreso than the actual show does now.
Because of the reverence the actor/character gets in the episode, and the way the story is executed, brings back a different time and feeling of when Superman was 'cool' among small kids, and it's done with good humor.
Superman The Movie/ SII - as originally conceived. I love that I was a Superman fan before the movie came out- but a much bigger one, seeing how the movie took areas that were (suprisingly) not really explored dramatically and brought out a great deal of magic out of it.
A number of the Superboy/Legion story that came out originally way back when they were first introduced. If Superman is about responsibility, these Superboy stories explored the fun part of being a character with these (almost) unlimited powers- and the situation gave the character an opportunity to put Superman/boy in a time and place where he could have genuine friendships and be a peer to others rather than just the savior of all mankind.
However, there were also a number of the wild "Superboy" stories that came out in the 1970's that took place not in the future, but in his 'present'--the stories weren't full of a lot of logic, but it had a flavor of 'going for broke' and was constantly entertaining.... something that I wish the (most of the time) overly-serious "Smallville" tv show could have learned from.
Having said that: There are a few episodes of "Smallville" that were incredibly well done. Particularly in the first season- where it was far less convoluted and the idea of Luthor and Clark being on different paths came more from the influence (and love/or lack of) from their respective earth parents.
The New Gods two-parter in Superman the Animated Series- although it wasn't really a Superman story per se.
Most of the first season of "Lois and Clark" have a specific charm to it, that took the limitations of tv- and made something I was determined to hate, into something that- while it doesn't replace the Donner Superman for best live action adaptation, it is a nice small 'gem' to accompany it, imo. The first season almost feels like a 'fan film version' of the Donner movies. No money, but a lot of heart.
The Alan Moore stories with Superman, particularly the two-parter that wraps up the bronze age, before the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
More recently, I'd say that the Geoff Johns issues os Superman have almost always hit their target (although the Donner ones have been disappointing).

Supermancinema. I used to think I was the only person who liked STM and II. I stumbled upon this site and here,I learned of ''the original opening, the re-powering,extra scenes, the choncord fly by'' etc.
Since reading these boards for years on and off ,until I finally mustered up the balls to step into the unkown and post on these boards.
It has introduced me to the three hour cut,the much read about Superman II ABC/RIC cut. I now have both which I just relish and Savior as gems. That said they are in dyer need of restoration. (but, that is another story) If I hadn't off joined up,I would have missed out on a whole lot of my favorite two films.
It has re-sparked my love for the character and the lore. I have since DL and enjoyed Superboy the TV series and I'm currently getting a kick out of season 1 of Lois and Clark.
Smallville had many, many good episodes. But,ultimately could have had 5 excellent seasons instead of 10 that were in and out, mostly out. Great cameos for us to enjoy over the years, though.
In anticipation of MOS I intend to by and get into the new DC reboot of Suoerman comics.
I'll take this opportunity to say that it's great being apart of this excellent group. Discussing many issues of the character and the films. Endless ideas for Superman II,the many ''could have beens and 'ifs' of the Donner debacle. Also, the excitement and doubts for the MOS. Plus, all the other non related Superman stuff too.
Superman rules,stand aside Batman!
