2 books in and loving it. seriously love this book. the arc is insane. like an epic tv series or film saga. top notch sci-fi it is. almost called in at work last night because i could not stop. i've been eating more fiber the last couple of days just so i could have more shits to have peaceful reading sessions with it. the coolest thing about it so far is that i'm approaching the half-way mark and the why still hasn't been established. there's been theories, but no concrete explanation as to why this "event" occured. A+ read thus far. vertigo has not let me down. just about everything i've read from them has knocked me out.

4 books in and still brilliant. its consistent as heck. it doesn't get better or worse as you go. it starts off great and stays great.

Belloq, if you haven't already, read Vaughan's Ex Machina when you're done. Reads EXACTLY like an HBO series.
I'm definitely gonna dig into Y very soon. It's time.

In a world where there has only EVER been ONE superhero (think the Rocketeer, except he has a superpower that lets him talk to machines), that former superhero becomes mayor of New York in 2002. The series operates more or less in real-time for the duration of its run, and flashes back and forth between his time as a superhero, but primarily focuses on his time as mayor of New York.
And it's FASCINATING. The dialogue is as good as anything you'll hear on the best TV or film. Politically, it pushes no agenda, as Mayor Hundred is socially liberal but not a LIBERAL by any means.
Having never read Y, I can't tell you if it's as good or better, but the way you're describing your experience with Y, well, that's most people's experience with Ex Machina. BKV is possibly the best writer in comics.

Y is one of those stories where the journey is the reward; don't rush to the ending, it will definitely leave you wishing you were still back reading the first issue with the whole series still ahead of you.
