i read @comicbookmovie some fans are speculating that it's a case of "filler" since jim lee is always behind!
others are saying that when shazam gets its ownbook it will replce hak and dove...

Both are very likely scenarios.
Since Frank can't meet a deadline either, it's a match made in heaven.
Between the two of them, they should be able to fill 22 pages a month.

This should be good. I've always been a fan of Captain Marvel. And with Johns and Frank involved it should be good. Frank taking on Captain Marvel should be pretty good.

I'm generally against "realistic" takes on Captain Marvel, but...there's no damn way I'm not giving this a look! Definitely looking forward to it.

i was thiiiiis close to dropping JL, as i promised i'd get GL and GL:corps for my boy. but if shazam is in it i'll keep it for now. interesting they are thinking (?) of dropping "captain marvel" andjust calling him "shazam". i actually hate that. and how did marvel comics avoid litigation by having TWO (at least) captain's marvel"?  oy. most people call the flash "flash gordon" and most people call captain marvel the flash!  still, something to look forward to though. i hope the costume is as close to the original as the article implies and i hope there is no anthropomorphic talking tiger. ;D |

Wouldn't be surprised if they go with the "Captain Thunder" moniker, which I'd sorta be ok with.
As for Mr. Tawny, he only works properly when:
a) it's a classic Marvel Family story set on Earth S, where whimsical shit happens.
OR...
b) Grant Morrison is writing him and he's super awesome and has a jetpack and shit.
