Not sure if this has been posted but it is Max Landis explaining how The Death and Return of Superman ruined comics...
Loads of famous people are in this parody.

Death and Return was a fun story but in a way it did cause some ruination. It was the culmination of trends that started in the 80's
By the 90's we had many major characters in some kind of shocking storyline ending with death or retirement and often being replaced. DC did it for most their major players except for Aquaman and Flash Adan even Aquaman went through a "shocking" transformation. Gimmicks just to sell or relaunch new books.
It was the Spider-Clone saga and The Onslaught storyline that ruined Marvel for me for years. Half those Heroes Reborn books were terrible. Liefelds Captain America made my eyes bleed.

I agree they jumped the shark/nuked the fridge with that storyline.
Superman:Doomsday/predator:Prey (whatever) was OK and so was Death of Clark Kent but nowhere near as good as previous stories. Didn't enjoy the wedding stuff. What's the point of Superman with no powers?
I gave up completely when the electric suit happened. That was about as Superman as Jon Peters' conception.
