meh.
It was ok. Robinson really can't write dialogue anymore, though. That Jay Garrick scene was pretty painful. And the thing with Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman finishing each others' sentences really annoyed me.
I really like the art, but I don't know if I'm gonna have the patience to stick around and see how this unfolds.

I think I might be done with everything. I'm focusing on old shit now. Nothing in the new comics is really making me need to buy the next issue, to be quite frank. And the cost sucks.

getting mine tomorrow, it's to replace JL which is shit.
i'm like kev, can't afford to buy comics that don;t do it for me, and i still have a huge list of back-issues to track down and finish certain arcs.

Gotta say...issue 2 was a big improvement. And the Flash costume looks WAAAAAY better on the interiors than it does on the cover. It's actually a really cool design! I think I've decided to stick with this...

I actually am really digging this title too. I quite enjoyed both the first and second issue. I'll be keeping up with this for the foreseeable future, as long as it maintains it's quality.

The art helps. I really don't mind the new Flash origin either. Why the heck not? I like that they've kept the "train" element of Alan Scott's origin, too. This is really interesting. I'm definitely sticking around for the rest of the first arc, and probably into the second one too. I'd like to see what they do once all the "origin" stuff is out of the way. And I may even hang on as long as Nicola Scott is doing the art! It's so dynamic and crisp! And the colors are great! (can't believe I'm gushing over a book I was "meh" about last month)
Did you notice the Grant vs. Montez poster? Nice touch.

No I didn't notice that poster. I should go back and check it out.
And I agree, the art is pretty fantastic for this title.

I don't know if it's because I was expecting something entirely different, but this title is a real disappointment. The awesome thing about Earth 2 (in the original continuity) was how it made clever use of Golden Age heroes and stories, taking advantage of DC's rich history and incorporating it into the ongoing universe instead of just throwing it all away. Did this new "Earth 2" have to take place in World War 2? No, although that would've been a welcome alternate environment that would have really set it apart. But if they were going to change that, the least they could've done was retain the TONE of the old JSA heroes and their world. Earth 2 always seemed to be a lighter, more innocent reality; this new Earth 2 is without question darker than the main DCU (with Darkseid's attack lasting years on end, and culminating in the deaths of the Trinity). Add to that the fact it would've been nice to have at least some of the old familiar faces be...familiar. These heroes are totally unrecognizable. Like Superman in the New 52, I see this as just more change for the sake of change. And to make matters worse (like Superman) the end product's not even good!
The zero issue this month is a tempting jumping-off point but I haven't cancelled a New 52 subscription yet (not even Hawkman), so I'll stick it out for the time being and see where it all leads. But yeah, I was looking for to WWII action and the JSA. What I got...was not that.
