Serious question here: This is not about what you WANT to see from the Superman franchise. The question is this: What is most likely to happen by 2015? Remember, desire is irrelevant. Give me your best guess. Place your bets, bitches ...

A complete reboot seems most likely from what they're saying.\
Think about it. They're doing it to get away from the stigma to Superman Returns. How can they if they have to deal with all it's baggage? If it were a revamped sequel, it might be done with a different cast and style, but they cant just pretend the events of the previous movie didn't happen. They can with a reboot, though.
It was ok for The Hulk, because that movie didn't have baggage. It was a fairly straightforward origin story.

Stuck in development heck - cause WB don't have the balls and conviction they had 20+ years ago.

It depends on Singer, really. If he delivers the script WB wants then a movie will be made within the next two years. If not, we're going to be development heck for a long time. Again.

If they have any real sense, it'll be another Singer movie going off what has been shown and just going in a completely new direction with everything.

I say Singer leaves in the middle of development because there will be a comic book franchise he's been dying to be a part of.

I really want them to bring the team back. There's absolutely no reason why they can't start with the action and up the stakes with a mennacing villain from the get go.

For the record, I went pessimistic and voted for development heck.
First, WB wanted a reboot. Then they wanted to stick with the Donner universe. Now they may want to reboot again. Who the fuck knows what they're thinking?

Singer will be given another chance. Far too much went into SR for them to scrap it all and start again.
Plus they will want to re-use all the toys with Rouths face on. They must have stacks of them left, no way their throwing them out.

Good point. ;D As Batman and Robin proves, the toy market OWNS everything.
As far as things go, I only truly need two things to return, Routh and Ottman's score. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Speaking of nipples, my right nipple today has been incredibly itchy, all day.

They'll follow in the footsteps of Marvel/Universal and reboot, new everything.
Contrary to the Superman film lore, they'll claim you can actually attach a credible 'known' actor to a lead superhero role with success, Norton and Downey jr example etc.
Not what most of us want, but hey - it's Warners!

The bankable actor can work for Hulk and Iron Man because during the money sequences, Hulk is a green CGI blog and Iron Man is a metallic CGI blob.
You will always see Superman's face. It's why the CGI flying sequences (such as the end of the movie) were so damn obvious. CGI is good, but it's still not that good.
Ultimately, my point is that the guy has to look like Superman. They can't just get away with putting a so-called bankable actor if he doesn't resemble Superman. Anybody have any suggestions on who is already considered a bankable actor that would make a believable Superman?
