I actually really liked this alot. I think because it was only based on a single issue, it didn't feel rushed at all. It was much better than I expected.

Saw it a few weeks ago. Ah it was alright I suppose. Just like a good episode of S:TAS.

I didn't really like it. As a story premise I like the idea, but the execution wasn't something I really got into. Newbern was great as always, but other voice actors were lacking. I didn't like Lois at all, she was extremely bitchy, like an uber Bosworth.
My main gripe with the movie would probably be the guy who played Manchester Black, well that and the character design. Superman looks like Desperate Dan with the huge chin they gave him. Anyway, I looked up the guy doing the voice for Manchester and he is English, which I found hard to believe. He gives one of the worst, inconsistent accents I've ever heard. Dick Van Dyke's got nothing on this fella. He goes from Scottish, to Yorkshire, to cockney in one sentence.
I also would have liked to hear a new theme as they re-used the one they've had in recent Superman animated movies.
Not the worst DCAU movie, but I won't be re-watching it in a hurry.

Isn't it only based on action comics 775?
I actually really liked that they used the theme from superman: doomsday again.

there was another manchester black story after action 775 called "ending battle".
both are VERY good, but the adaptation is very different from both.
overall i liked it a LOT. the opening montage was cool. loved seeing the retro cartoons in montage.
one of the gripes of the story is the character design. i liked it. i don;t want to see it every superman cartoon, but i liked it. with "all star" we had a funky look to the design so i don;t mind these experiments.
STORY: 3.5/5. good premise, superman's relevance IN the story is an echo of superman's relevance to pop culture. unfortunately - it was very ham fisted. it had it's moments, lots of action, but not in the same league as "all-star superman" and the like. also- we get manchester blacks motivation- but there is no context or explanation of his team. they are all wildly different and involve "magic" so i'd have liked to this fleshed out a bit. (which is the only recurring weak link in the warner/premiere animated films)
ART/ANIMATION: 4/5 good. i liked the look, and the design. all-star superman got a line of dc direct action figures- i'd be curious to see if we see a line for this.
VOICE: 4/5 i liked everyone in it, but of course newburn is compelling.

I've had it for a little while but haven't finished it yet. Its prety good so far. I love the intro and I agree its cool that they kept the Superman theme from Superman: Doomsday. I've noticed that in a couple of the DC animated films. The CO2E theme shows up in Doom and I think the GL FF theme popps up again somewhere too.
I checked out the preview for TDKR and sounds like Andrea Romano and Weller are on the right track with Batman.
