recently picked up the ST:TNG and DOCTOR WHO crossover series.
havent read it as its for my daughter- but i also acquired the IDW star trek/abrams trek first issue out of curiosity.
what they're doing is picking up immediately after abrams trek and revamping classic eps with the "look" and revision of abrams trek.
the first arc is "gary mitchel".
now, of course all of this is just "merchandising" as far as paramount is concerned , and could easily be superseded by abrams trek II.
so my theory about cumberbatch being gary mitchel could be way off or maybe not.
