Looks like an immense hack-job: www.blu-ray.com/movies/Max-Fleischers-Superman-Blu-ray/50279/#ReviewHeavy DNR and filtering, jaggies, obvious upscaling, other glitches. There's also the distributor's name watermarked the entire time. WTF? Since it's public domain, pretty much anyone can release it, and the source is usually crap to begin with. It's not quite as bad as Gulliver's Travels, but it's up there.

The best versions I've seen were the ones that came with the 2006 Superman DVDs.

Which are now on blu ray, though the cartoons themselves are not in HD, they look great.
I would buy a proper blu ray set of this, though. These cartoons are still SO amazing and hold up spectacularly well. Beautiful animation. Exciting. Perfect. I was obsessed with these as a child. It was the movies and the cartoon that got me young.

I really need to sit down and watch these all in sitting. I think that would be a blast. And i have to confess that there are still some of the famous studios shorts i have not seen.
