Except you don't know what you're talking about because I've always discussed my problems with previous incarnations. Fail. I must have missed that, I certainly don't remember you getting your knickers in a twist to that degree. That's because we've discussed all that shit ten thousand times over the last decade PLUS. the issues in this film are new and fresh on people's minds. Not only that but this film had the crap from the old films to learn from. Not as easy to have excuses when even now people have figured out how to avoid some of those pitfalls I've always said turning back time was a cop out and never been shy about it. I've always said Cain's Supes was shit. I've always said Bosworth was awful and looked liked twelve year old girl who wandered in from "Take your kid to work day". I've always said Batman Begins microwave emitter was a stupid mcguffin that felt tacked on and made no sense. I've always said Magnetos plans to turn he world leaders into mutants made even LESS sense.

Fair enough man. But I've been quite critical of Goyer since I saw the film so it's not as if I'm turning a blind eye to the rather glaring flaws in it, i just happened to have a different interpretation of that particular scene, it's not 'bullshit' because it doesn't match up to yours. That's all I'm saying

Zod's broadcast was a much darker and creepier moment that I anticipated, it worked really well.
I also loved the idea of the fortress being a scout ship, but at the same time was a little disappointed that it had to be destroyed later on!

- Superman flying across the water causing the rippling effect. Anyone who remembers my fan edit ideas for Superman 2 from a few years ago may remember that that was an idea I had in mind (and will appear in Booshman's next fan edit of 2 someday).
- Jor-el falling after Zod stabbed him. Made me flinch when his head whiplashed. What can I say, I love the old school stunts without computers.
- Superman shirtless. My brother started working out again and plans on putting pics from that scene on his wall with the words "If you don't go to the gym, you won't look like him" lol.
- Young Clark hiding in the closet and Martha comforting him. This part made me pretty misty-eyed I'll admit.
- Same goes for Johnathan telling Clark how they found him.
- And again when Johnathan died. Gotta admit, this movie did a fantastic job of balancing both action and character/drama.
- The look on Lois' face when Clark arrives at the DP at the end. The fact that she knows who he is. Kudos to the writers for taking that risk.

Another thread to discuss the movie? Really? Yeah, this is a bit ridiculous now. The board didn't need another thread about Man of Steel. It also implies that the main spoiler thread was only negative comments which just isn't true. It comes off like "I only want to read good things about a movie I like"... and begs for a thread merging.

Jesus christ I'm bored. I was basically saying you can poke holes in all of these films and it might be best to try to avoid it for your own enjoyment, it wasn't an order, now pull your panties out your crack and lighten up ffs.

It was pretty much discussions on the flaws. Whats wrong with wanting a thread for positive discussion?
But admin should delete it since it's clearly ruffled a few feathers. Christ

If you're bored then quit cheerleeding the film everytime someone has an issue and get over the fact that not everyone thought it was perfect. I've already said there was a lot about it I liked but that doesn't seem good enough to you. Like costa said you seem to be so annoyed that you created another thread to hear what you wanted. Like I said there's things I liked. Move on and stop harping on shit and you won't be so bored.

I guess if I had to nitpick...it would be Zod/Faroa arriving at the farm as I mentioned before and...
...I didn't necessarily like Lois being in EVERYTHING. 1st, she's at the secret site in the Arctic...okay. Next, she's in the alien spacecraft...um okay. Then she's the military's right had woman in Smallville...okay. Next, she's in outer space on Zod's spacecraft....grrr.

My biggest gripe is definitely the question of how/why the costume was on the Kryptonian ship, and we can all come up with our own theories, but the movie should have made it more clear. We see Lara closing up Jor-El's suit into a pod, it would have been cool if that ended up being Superman's suit, and Lara sent it to the Kryptonian ship knowing that one day Kal would find it. Though if that's my biggest gripe, I'm okay with that. Theories? Don't you know that everything I decree is undeniable fact!

I say, ideally--- if no other footage comes out of MOS- mix other films- to make the flow smoother and less crazy. Also, to change/add more character bits-
KRYPTON:
1. PIck a scifi film with a large establishing shot of a planet that resembles Krypton in MOS and put it as a starting point- 2. Scene with Kal's birth- 3. Shorten/trim Jorel battling Zod- if possible. Jorel kicking butt didn't add anything for me, and made me feel he was less of a man of science and more of a fighter. 4. During the trial sequence, remove two of the 'I WILL FIND HIM!''s..... do we need him to scream it three times? I think overlapping Lara's and Zod's dialogue might add more impact, if only for a second. 5. Ends with ship going to earth-
SMALLVILLE
1. From Field of Dreams, intercut young Costner looking at a field, intercut with a scene of a young Diane Lane crying. Voiceover from a doctor (hopefully from some movie) trying to give comfort for losing a child, and saying the mother is unable to have more. 2. Add a shot of a young Kevin Costner driving along in the country, then a blast of light.... FADE TO....
3. Closeup of Costner in the country- looking pleased at his son- 4. Shot from the end of the film with young Clark proud, happy, running around in his 'cape'.
5. The other Smallville scenes with the bus, Pete Ross, etc.
6. Insert buildup scenes of the tornado from "Twister" 7. The tornado/ Jonathan death sequence. Add some extreme closeups of Costner and Cavill from other films to enhance it (where it blends in ok and isn't noticeable) to add to the emotional buildup.
ROAMING THE EARTH
1. Clark being picked on, in the diner. 2. Boat sequence/ saves oil rig/
FOS
1. Closeups of Cavil from another movie in some work environment--- and having a sound effect (like the crystal in STM) calling to him. Fade to aerial footage in the Arctic + music. 2. The footage in MOS with Lois/Clark/Jorel.
SMALLVILLE BATTLE and on from there-- but adding a lot of shots (w/roto) of Cavill reacting to people & destruction and maybe adding Tranformers 3 bits of people on the ground, running or whatnot during it.
Something like that...
