There was a post that mentioned that Supes should be a LEADER--- and that got me thinking.... of the major cinema/tv superheroes, who would you pick to be the supreme military leader if you had to choose between the two?

Wonder Woman.

That's funny- I was considering that a third choice, but I figured that that would be too easy to choose. With only the choice of these two characters- either one can (1) choose not to vote, (2) choose the guy who has the biggest heart and doesn't want to sacrifice anyone (Supes), or (3) choose the guy who will win the war, but have no problem sacrificing pawns (Batman). At least, that's how I see it. So far: "Choose not to vote" seems to be winning.

Batman.
Superman doesn't think ten steps ahead or have a grand master plan of all things at all times. I'd stand behind Superman but I'd want Batman calling the shots.

I could easily see them working together, Batman in an officer capacity, strategizing and planning from behind the line--meanwhile, Supes rallies the troops and leads the charge on the ground.

Funny thing is, I'm old enough to have grown up with the idea of Batman/Superman being best friends in the comics--- until Frank Miller came in and introduced the two as being two allies that distrust one another deeply....
So, I could have seen that idea before, when they (in the comics) were portrayed as characters that trusted one another. After DC decided to change that relationship, it's hard for me to see Supes not looking over his shoulder now and then to see what Bats is up to.
On another note, if I had expanded the choices further, my pick would be Captain America- for his leadership, battle experience, but also my feeling that he does have the compassion for the soldiers he sends in battle that Batman may lack. He would feel more for the sacrifices.
I think Cap and Supes may have more in common in that respect, than Bat and Supes.... which is why I thought it extremely odd that in the JLA vs. Avengers book, they are portrayed as antagonists. Very odd, I thought.

to answer the question, ;D ,
i'd want batman and martian manhunter to be the startegists, and wonder woman to be the ruthless enforcer.
superman is the peacemaker diplomat. and when diana kicks his ass into gear he'll back her up on enforcement.
