The first one sucks, but the second one is pretty damn cool. That would take forever to do. You gotta study the movie frame, then recreate, take the picture then repeat. Would be cool to see the whole film done this way.
This reminds me of the Live Action toy story recreation that was released last week.

Totally agree!
Since Donner never was able to shoot Mank's full script, would be nice to see the whole thing done this way (or in 2d, 3d, he'll,even in the original storyboard format!).

I started on a comic based on the script way back before the Donner cut saw the light of day. Only ever finished one page fully as it took ages to do, roughed out a couple of others, but never completed them. Maybe one day when I get other projects completed I'll go back to it. The stop motion clips are cool. I have no idea how anyone would have the patience to animate the cape, it's a huge pain in the arse to position how you want it. I like that Toy Story vid too, must have taken a long time.
