He is a purty boi, and I think that's his downfall. Granted the make up crew on Smallville are making him look younger than he really is. Welling's acting this season has been superior than his acting in previous seasons. His voice, well, Routh and Welling have the same pitch but Routh's timber is a little deeper than Welling. His Bizzaro voice from a couple of seasons back had a deeper timber so he can make his voice deeper. Physically, Welling has a better Superman physique than Routh, although Routh has been looking quite buff as of late. There have been times where Welling looks bigger than Chris Reeve. If there were ever to be a JLA movie, I can accept him as the MOS, but certainly not as Routh's replacement. What would really irritate me is if they do decide to reboot (not likely) and decide to start fresh and not get Welling or Routh. In the end, Routh is Superman, period. Chim-Chim? I thought you knew that his bizarro voice was electronically enhanced. And no, it seems to me that Brandon's voice is a lot deeper than Wellings. And on the physique, yes, Welling is a big dude, but Arnie and The Rock are bigger than him. that doesn't mean that they are Superman material. Bigger doesn't mean better. I think Brandon was big enough in SR, at least to my tastes. Superman doesn't need huge muscles, why should he? He is powered by the sun. Brandon looked strong, toned and athletic in SR, and I think that's fine for live-action. Besides, he can get bigger if required, but he was told to stop gaining weight (they say it in the RFK docu) otherwise he wouldn't fit in the suits, which had already been made... stupid, I know. I guess we just have to agree to disagree, mate.

Pitch shifters rule! And yes, I knew. I'm still a Welling defender. I don't think that will ever change. But, we can agree on one thing and the most important of all, Routh IS Superman!

Hey, guys, here is an UPDATE on the Poll... ;D by the site's owner, and once again it's very biased.. Fortunately, one of the posters called him on it (the guy had, again, posted a tiny pic of Brandon as Supes, and a big pic of Welling, lol). Read the comments and you'll see; it's just a few of them. Amusing stuff! Here is the link: www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/HungeryNews/news/?a=5822

Speaking of muscles, Routh seems to be beefing himself up recently for that kind of evil superman look. ;D

comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=19473Rising star writer Andrew Kreisberg and veteran artist Pete Woods have been handed the heavy task of re-inventing Kal-El’s home planet in the upcoming 12-part DC Comics miniseries, “Superman: World of New Krypton." ... Currently enjoying critical acclaim for his run on “Green Arrow/Black Canary,” the 37-year old Kreisberg has just this week joined the writing team of FOX’s smash genre hit “Fringe.” His similarly well-reviewed four-part "Do You Understand These Rights?" arc in "Batman Confidential" will come to an end in next week's issue #25. ... What is your touchstone for Superman? Obviously, with Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, when you are reading their books, they’ve got Christopher Reeve in mind. Do you think of Superman from movies, comic books or even “Challenge of the Super Friends?
"My Superman reference point is definitely Christopher Reeve. And I will also take this opportunity to give a shout out to Brandon Routh, who I think really did a fantastic job [in “Superman Returns”]. The movie didn’t always serve him as well as it could have but I think he made a fantastic Superman." Nice! And if you can, read the rest of the interview. It's a interesting read. Also, for those who liked Brandon in the role, do you agree with him that Brandon wasn't always well served by the movie, or not? I've heard some people say that. And I'm curious to know what you guys, who enjoyed him in the role, think about it.

i honestly cant think of any reason routh should be replaced. anyone who doubts his chops should watch the screen test he did ( with BETTER script material than what they used in the actual movie ) for the scene where he tries to rationalise not saying goodbye to lois.
heck the shooting script should have had a mank credit.

As President Elect Barack Obama lead by example by painting walls at the Sasha Bruce House on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day morning before his Inauguration, several big celebs and civic leaders gathered early at Ballou Senior High School in Washington DC’s Anacostia neighborhood to call for a “New Era Of Service” lead by ServiceNation. Toby Maguire announced the launch of a ServiceNation Ambassador’s Council that will seek to recruit Hollywood stars to speak out for and enlist folks in national service. Also on hand to speak were Martin Luther King III, Congressman John Lewis, incoming Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, California First Lady Maria Shriver, Alan Khazei of ServiceNation coalition organization Be The Change, Inc., Congressman George Miller, Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Laysha Ward of the Target Foundation (corporate sponsor of ServiceNation) and Time Magazine Managing Editor Richard Stengel. After the morning’s presentation, none other than Superman himself, Brandon Routh, lead a group of public school students and volunteers on a march down the block from Ballou High School to Simon Elementary school, for a day of community service work. www.nbclosangeles.com/news/entertainment/Ashton___Demi__Tobey___More_Gather_For_Service_Commitment.html From today January 19, 2009

Superman meets SpidermanPublished by Gil Kaufman on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 9:47 pm. WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Hollywood studio system couldn’t make it happen, but President-elect Barack Obama pulled off a bit of movie-worthy magic today. No, he didn’t make the country’s trillions of dollars in debt disappear via high-tech FX overnight before he even moves into the White House; he brought Superman and Spider-Man together in the same room to fight for the good of the nation.OK, so maybe it was actually actors Tobey Maguire and Brandon Routh. They were on hand at Abram Simon Elementary to perform some community service as part of the president-elect’s call to community action on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. But the momentous meeting was the kind that comic geeks salivate over. Maguire was hard at work with volunteers in a classroom at the school trying to figure out how to build the IKEA-style shelving units, when Routh walked by just behind him, but the superheroes-in-street-clothes barely acknowledged each other as they pitched in while wearing their civvies. In fact, both seemed like they were purposely avoiding the other’s gaze so as not to encourage, well, stories like this, probably. Leave it to MTV producer extraordinaire Ryan Kroft to point out to correspondent Kim Stolz that the super-duo were in the room together for the first time ever. “I see Tobey Maguire in the room as well — that means we have Superman and Spider-Man. What are your thoughts on that?” Kim asked Routh. “Is there a better team possible, really?” “Probably not, you know?” Routh answered. “It’s pretty high-caliber. Tobey’s a great guy, and he gave a great speech today at a breakfast we had earlier for ServiceNation. … We’ll team up, and we’ll do good things.” Though Maguire was kept busy screwing panels of the shelves together, a short time later, as Routh pulled books from boxes to stack them in the newly built cubbies, he happened across a — no joke — Spider-Man book, and walked it over to his super-brethren. “I think this is yours,” he said, handing Maguire the book. The web-slinger laughed, and the actors shook hands and chatted for a few moments before Routh walked back across the room to shelve “I Can Read: Spider-Man 3, Meet the Heroes and the Villains.” “I think I can probably beat them all up,” Routh said. “Just kidding.” Crisis averted. “Be the Change: Live From the Inaugural” will air live on MTV on Tuesday, January 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. MTV News will have wall-to-wall coverage of the event and of the scenes in Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Kenya in the days leading up to the event and in the days that follow. newsroom.mtv.com/2009/01/19/barack-obama-brings-spider-man-and-superman-together-to-build-shelves/*There is also a video of the two together.

It's a wonderful thing Tom Welling is an uber-conservative neocon. get out ! maybe this will get sleutron on board... what's "sleutron"? sleutron is a UK superman fan who has done some fan-editing of superman 2 and wrote an innane article suggesting that obama is a literal superhero. he is one of the ill-advised who despised america untill election day and would still despise america if mccain had won.
