A Superman II which will attempt to tell (almost) the whole story of Superman II with Clark's affections for Lana coming ahead of his feelings for Lois. I've already completed the first draft of the workprint and you won't beleive how easy it was to make the whole thing about simple longing for a high school sweetheart. Lana's scenes also compliment the structure of the film very well.
Rather than go the usual route with the Superman credits I settled on a much quieter, less bombastic sort of fare tying into Jor-El's education of his son to signify the passage of time before bringing us bang up to speed with the resolution of the crisis from the first movie. Due to my inexperiance with my video editing software, the credits are admitedly naff and don't even cover writers, directors or editors...but I ran out of narration and I thought it'd be more effective visually to go from a fade out of Jor-El to the crisis from the first movie.

interesting- bit of SIII inserted into SII...
how much of SIII's plot do you intend to use? only the smallville/lana parts?

Interesting isn't it, mixing II and III. I remember a while back I suggested on here that when Superman loses his powers, instead of an instant loss, it gradually turns him bad, inter cut II with III where he puts out the torch, forgets about the guy in the truck on the bridge, gets drunk, does all that bad stuff, fights Clark and then good Superman returns to kick Zod's ass...

I was able to make use of the scene with them in the train when the power goes out, which is caused when Supes knocks Non into the building (the idea is it a control tower operating the railway line) To get around the Diner issue, I made use of clips from Superman IV That's an interesting idea there with the chamber making Supes an "anti-social element", you could have him play about with Lana as Clark and Superman respectivly to hurt Lois too. When he goes to run an "errand" when the lottery machine is brought in, you could have him straighten the leaning tower instead of putting it back in place

This edit is now very close to completion. Just putting together the sixth workprint draft. Changes since the last update are:
-Lester opening of Superman II added
-Superman flying out of the fortress at the end of the opening credits leads directly into the missile chase. I didnt feel like showing Supes suffering from kryptonite was a big deal considering no Kryptonite is ever used in II, so it's pointless bringing that up as a weakness. Just get on with the story
-Blend of missile explosion from Donner cut and Phantom Zone shattering from Lester cut
-The baloon escape has been cut from the new drafts. Instead Lex and Tessmarcher escape using the car.
-Lana's call to Smallville airport trimmed (this was for continuity reasons, she says "tomorow", but Clark meets her at the hotel at the end of the day)
-Jor-El and Clark's conversation in the fortress no longer has the pesky audio fade-out problem, I worked around it.
-I borrowed the tinyest possible fractions from Selutron's Superman II edit for one bridging sequence (Zod stripping the general of his medals during the attack on Washington), I also borrowed a bit from ADM's Superman Redeemed (Supes making the diamond for Lana), I'll give proper credit to the original source material for these shots in the credits.
I've also put together a rather naughty bonus feature I'll attatch to the finished product
