Long timers like myself here, anyone remember this?? Been flick through the old board having a great laugh. Saw a thread mentioning Zoomway and had a laugh at that. Then, I came across this gem. supermancinemadiscussion.yuku.com/topic/755

Funny as fuck! You should have gotten some kind of honour. I loved how serious and upset some people were when they found out it was a wind up

I remember this! Brilliant. The old board look brings back some fond memories.
Damn, though. Some people took that way too seriously.
Out of interest, is anyone from that thread, bar Conor and ye5man still here under a different username?

From an old "Smallville" thread ... MAV: I cant wait for Clark to meet Bibbo, Otis, Miss Tessmacher, Darkseid, Metallo, Brainiac, Paralax, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Arrow, Captain Marvel, The Flash, Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Martian Manhunter, Me, Red Tornato, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Al Franken, Yoda, Oprah & all the other people that somehow end up meeting Clark before he reaches his Twenties in a small town in Kansas. Mav got it right on Darkseid, Metallo, Brainiac, Green Arrow, a version of Flash, Dr. Fate, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman ... damn, Mav was a visionary in 2005! And I've been around since 2000 ... shit, that makes me ponder my own mortality more than other life events. How many of us old timers are left?

How come all that Brando footage was so disappointing when we finally saw it for real?

How come all that Brando footage was so disappointing when we finally saw it for real? Just like teenage sex: too much anticipation ruins it.

Wonder if those genuinely offended can now look back and laugh at it. Some of the reactions were startling!

Martin said people shouldn't be arsing around with stuff that is 'of real importance to some people'.
You'd think it was the discovery of the dead sea scrolls!

That thread was before my time, but, fuck, it looks like it was a classic!
Weird to think Reeve was still alive when that happened.

The joke was on all of us after all. We did get the footage eventually, and it was uh, ... sigh.

Haha I'm amazed anyone doubted Oldman, he's easily the best actor in that trilogy.

I'm not sure I gave Nolan much thought back then. He wasn't a name I knew. I had seen "Insomnia," but I thought it was just okay. I might re-watch that sometime.
The biggest thing I remember about the hype around the first movie was "fuck, another black rubber suit?"

That was a fail by me. I meant 'Oldman'. Oldman's the best actor in the trilogy!
