I hear you- I do know that the marketing for a lot of these books don't seem all that great--- or not enough people don't seem to buy them in the bookstore. I accidentally came across the $50 photo book for Superman Returns in a comic shop years later--- but didn't even know it existed! I don't think the local bookstores carried it! (The 'art of' was in the stores, but not the photo book) I wonder if these type of books to WB seem too niche/don't make enough money for WB? In any case---even if marketed well, I would think SR didn't have a decades-old following.... whereas STM is part of many prominent filmmakers' memories, as well as fans- With good marketing- I'd think if these books went to San Diego comicon (which is full of older folks who remember/love the Donner films), they should make a fortune.

Put me down for two copies. The Indiana Jones and Jaws coffee table books are awesome! Why not Superman WB?

Very true..... Especially as Superman was one of WB's GIANT hits back in the day (pre-Burton Batman).--- Why can't Donner's STM/SII get the same love as Indy? The second one came out about the same time as the first Indy.

I picked one up used for $20 on Amazon marketplace.... which was a great steal. But, it's odd how the hardback movie coffee table books are hit and miss as far as when the best time is to pick them up.
For example, 'Making of John Carter' goes for $100-$200 (the original I think was $40), but the Watchmen making of hardback went on sale for $10 at Amazon for awhile. You never know....

I see Richard Donner has agreed to write the FORWARD to the book!
Does that it was originally written BACKWARDS and Donner is going to correct it?

I haven't run across that one. Thanks for the link. I'd definitely like to get the "Art of" series for Sr, MoS, and DK Trilogy. I'd love to get the shooting scripts, too, but I haven't seen a MoS shooting script yet.

You're very welcome! But- do yourself a favor and either check out the 'used-just like new' sections for these books on Amazon, and save a ton of $$$.
There were reprints of the Nolan-Goyer scripts for his Batman films, and there was one for SR I think prior to its release.... I'd be suprised if they didn't have a printed one for MOS - if not now, then down the line....

I had my eye on the DK Trilogy script/storyboard book and Art of the DK Trilogy book. I don't think the SR script is as robust, didn't mention anything about storyboards. MoS, even if published in script form, I would doubt there were storyboards at all, just a shit-load of previs.

Yeah, if I recall right- the SR script was just the script in paperback. The 'art of SR' book I think is DIRT cheap used right now--- it's ok, but not necessarily my favorite as far as the art books go. One major deletion for me was not having the entire alternate 'comic strip opening' comic scanned into it (they have the first page, which looks great, but wanted more).
As far as 'art of' books- I've tried to pick and choose carefully with the superhero films- The one with the most interesting images that I've gotten so far was the Watchmen one. The art of Xmen 2 I think is another favorite- comes with the whole script as well. (Would have picked up 'Art of Xmen first class', but they didn't bother putting one out. REALLY hoping they have an 'art of' book for 'Days of Future Past', though...
