So a WB exec said Batman will be tired and weary.
Didn't we just go through that in TDKR?
So now Superman is a murdering Vulcan and Batman is a burnout.
That's great.
Tired and weary.
I guess he needs a vacation from the vacation he took in Italy with Anne Hathaway.
Oh, wait. It's a reboot of Batman, right?
So DC is taking the best, most valuable and critically acclaimed series and make it...IRRELEVANT AND MEANINGLESS.
Sounds like a plan!!!
Typical DC to take their golden goose and burn it to a crisp.

WB: running comic book movie trends into the ground since 1997. It's just a reverse of what they did in the 90s.

*yawn* people can want whatever they want. I don't care. Seems like certain others just don't like hearing the dissenting opinion and get pissed off.

I don't see how it will be that much different in tone than TDKR. He looked pretty tired in that one.

I keep thinking they should've paid Bale the $50 mill, and not because of Affleck who I think will be fine.
With all the divisiveness of MOS, I can't help but imagine Bale in the suit next to Superman with Zimmerman's Bat music.
Even if the movie is as mediocre as MOS, it would virtually guarantee some cool scenes.

What's so butthurt about my comment?
Oh, I see. Just because I thought MOS was mediocre that automatically qualifies my opinion as invalid.
That's why it's been a blast acting up around here.
Despite a serious attempt to get the conversation grounded, people "hear" what they want and so I might as well have a little fun.

Guys, you gotta understand something. It's not opinions being valid or not, it's everyday someone says the movie is mediocre. Some people just bring it up for the heck of it. It's pretty annoying and not because you don't like a movie that I happen to like. I honestly have no fucks to give on that matter. But I'm tired coming on this board to know that certain individuals don't like certain movies. It's old already. Who am I to tell you to stop? I'm just letting you know that has nothing... NOTHING to do with opinions being valid or not. Just give that a rest.

I would have welcomed back Bale had Nolan put such a definitive ending to that version of the Bat. I wouldn't be surprised if WB lobbied him to not do that, but he probably got away with hit because he and Bale absolutely refused to do another. But that's just my uninformed guess. I have no idea what really happened.

The onlyl tidbit I got about Nolan's original intent with the ending is from Peter David's blog where he got that Nolan wanted to kill off Bale's Batman, but DC (or WB) drew the line in the sand.
I think it's REALLY too bad that he didn't negotiate a way to get his original idea shot and at least put on the dvd release. But then again--- how passionate was Nolan for TDKR? One wonders...
