The thing with this forum, is that I think EVERYONE here has been a fan or at the very least (I could be wrong, though) SEEN STM all the way through.
What's easy to forget/overlook is that there's a giant number of current moviegoers who have never seen the Star Wars films, the Indiana Jones films, many of the Star Trek films, etc. etc.-
While there's no way for anyone to really know- I was pretty surprised when- in 2006 there were people in the local used dvd stores who had seen Superman Returns and wanted to pick up STM, as they had never seen it, and felt it could be helpful.
I assume (but am not even sure) that all comic fans that go to the local shops have even SEEN the Reeve Superman films.
I think many people know/think of Chris Reeve as Supermam, because the publicity photos from STM are almost always used.... but, I was familiar with James Dean and Marilyn Monroe- though I have yet to see a single Marilyn Monroe film, and only years after seeing Dean's image ever got to seeing one of his films.
With Reeve's public paralysis and also having had Superman movies that lasted 4 films- I think most people know who Reeve is (or are familiar with Reeve's face as Superman in the movies)--- but what percentage of general moviegoers do you think have seen STM all the way through?
