www.pbs.org/superheroesPBS has put its three-hour documentary "SuperHeroes" online to watch. It's basically the whole of comic book history, not just Superman. Check it out.

I watched this today. It is so goddamn good. I cried a few times. Simply incredible. Everyone needs to see this. It's amazing to hear how I've always felt about this stuff put into words by the people who do them.

Great find! Thanks for putting this up, Bradley!
I saw it was available for purchase as well on dvd. Also, there are 'extended interviews' I notice on youtube from PBS for this as well...

it was EXCELLENT. i loved how superman-centric it was. funny how both WB and marvel kind of just glossed over shitty stuff like "batman and robin" or "elektra" and so on. god, lynda carter looked amazing. im so in love with her.

It was a badass documentary. I put i on thinking it would be a mere distraction for a few minutes while my girl got herself ready to go out, but I ended up watching all three parts.

Bought the dvd, was impressed, but it definitely could have been even longer. I was suprised at how Carmine Infantino seemed to get far more credit than Julius Schwartz over revitalizing DC in the 60's with their hero reboots (Flash, Green Lantern, Atom)... Still, great stuff.
For those interested, "Comic Book Confidential" covers stuff here + what was happening in the independent comics' history simultaneoulsy, though not 3 hours worth, but. Also worth checking out.
