Hi all It was quite a while ago that I first mentioned this project, it originally started as a model for a possible statue of C.R as Superman but after DC announced that one was on the way, I decided to move to-wards making a photo realistic model. Not an easy task with an image that is so well known but it's finally complete and I thought this would be the right place to show the model. Hope you all like it - messages/feedback are welcome

Thank you It's really great to hear your praises, I know how highly Christopher's image as Superman is held here and its a view I share with you all. Something I forgot to post in my first message is this alternative image of the model with C.R/Superman standing before the crystals in the fortress.

Hi everyone Thank you and I really mean it, it was a daunting move to post the image, even DC cant get Christopher's likeness perfect for a model so thank you for your positive feedback. Since I first posted it I have continued to work on the model, making a better effort on the hair as it seemed quite blocky. And I thought you might also like to see the model without textures. If you would like to see the model 360 you're welcome to at www.samhanover.com - just click showreel.

Sam isn't the S a little lower on the cape? It could just be me, but I always thought it was a little lower. But other than that, it's pretty damn incredible! ;D

Thanks Evilsupes, no i think it's fair to say it is placed higher, from the refrence material I had the s was lower but when I would apply it to the model I didnt think it sat right to I moved it up a little.

Maybe DC Direct should have used your model to create their dissappointing effort!

Yeah if that 3D model was made into a real statue, I would be a very happy man.

That's really cool of you to say, It is something I would have done but its around £300 - 400 to have a 3D print made.
Im surprised DC didn't use a 3D sculpt for the C.R statue, they have on previous statues and busts, but then they make dreadful decisions on really important products.
