Went to Best Buy (No more MOS steelbooks, I looked), and caught a BEST BUY exclusive (at least for now): The Burton/Schumacher Batman movies on Bluray in one set WITH all the exclusives for $19.99! Here's the thing: it INCLUDES all the bonus extras from the expensive blu set earlier.
If this is the case..... can the Superman blu set be far behind for under $20?
EDIT: Earlier I accidentally put in 'Target' exclusive. Best Buy only.

Fucking FOR REAL?! ONE BLU RAY for all four Batman flicks? Damn. Well, four blu discs with all the extras in one bluray box for $19.99 at Bestbuy- pretty cool, eh? (It's a tiny box, as now, they package the discs RIGHT on top one another- two on the front holder, two on the back) (Scroll to the bottom of the page) www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_dynSessConf=&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&fs=saas&saas=saas&keys=keys&st=batman+collection+bluWent to the store directly- apparently backordered on the net, but still available(just takes awhile). On the flip side: Amazon's set (which seems to be exactly the same thing, but the older bigger packaging) went down to $25---(found this out later)- either way, AWESOME deals. Predicting that if this is the case, eventually the Lethal Weapon blus, Superman blus, and even the Nolan blus might end up in one of these, too.

The Superman set was oddly handled by WB, initially being way overpriced and then online retailers carrying the UK version instead. It sort of came and went, even though it lowered for the original $100+ pricepoint it didn't drop below $50, then is was pulled or went out of print. WB usually discounts there special boxsets as quickly as a year after release. The one difference between these 4 film collections is they are collected "budget" versions of already released single items. For instance, there was only one pressing of Batman discs (although they were released as the larger boxset, single discs and the 4 film series). That is why you get all the extras. The dirty harry boxset was condensed down to 4 film budget release, but you loose the 5th film. Leathel Weapon was as well, but parts 1 and 2 contain the older 1080i up-converted to 1080P discs. Boxsets with exclusive bonus discs or new transfers probably won't drop as low as the budget titles as a non sale price, The Superman boxset has 3 exclusive films on BD, I guess that was the selling point. At some point WB will put this back on the market and probably at a better price. You'll defiantly be able to pick it up in the $30ish range, the packaging may change though. I just got the Nightmare on Elm Street collection for 24.99. Considering the complete Superman collection has 6 films total, if they did go the 4 budget film route you'd probably end up with Superman, Superman 2 TDC, Superman 2 and Superman Returns. And the Superman Returns disc would probably be the original release with less bonus features.

I bought the UK edition of the Superman box set from Amazon.uk. The packaging is slightly different, but the content is exactly the same as the North American version. I live in Canada, but I don't think the shipping charges would be any different than the US. I only paid about $20.00 for my set, including the shipping/VAT charges. No complaints at all. Here you can't find it cheaper than triple that cost. The only down side is that the name of each movie is in very tiny letters, but it's region free. No complaints. If you are not obsessed over packaging, I recommend the UK. I've bought many box sets there for much cheaper than here, including the Lethal Weapon, Jurassic Park, Alien, and I saw the Batman Anthology ladt week for a good price. As long as you confirm the blu ray is region free, you are good to go.
