Thought this would be a interesting question to ask to see everyone different responses or in some cases no response to certain movies haha
STM: Helicopter Rescue
SII: Alley Change
SIII: Junkyard Scene/Shirt Rip
SIV: Moon Battle
SR: Hovering above the earth/plane rescue
MOS: Smallville Battle

STM: Helicopter rescue. And only because Valerie Perrine didn't get butt nekkid in the movie.
SII: Metropolis battle. And only because Valerie Perrine STILL didn't get butt nekkid in the movie.
SIII: Gus and Brad getting shitfaced. And only because Annette O'Toole didn't get butt nekkid in the movie.
SIV: Moon battle. And only because Mariel Hemingway didn't get butt nekkid in the movie.
SR: Plane rescue sequence. And only because Parker Posey didn't get butt nekkid in the movie.
MOS: Lois and Superman mack on each other in the interrogation room. And only because Kevin Costner didn't get ...

STM: the helicopter rescue- (though if you were talking about NUMBER of great scenes, this would easily top them all)
SII: the diner scene- first time I'd ever seen Superman given this kind of characterization- most powerful scene in the film, incredibly intense
SIII: the junkyard fight- even though I thought it was weak, still the strongest scene in the whole film
SIV: the 'date' that Clark/Supes has is fun mainly to see Reeve at his comic best, shuttling back and forth between characters- more amusing than anything in SIII, I thought
SR: Lois/Superman's aerial flight over Metropolis, with the famous/infamous 'every day I hear the world crying out for a savior'
MOS: the villains' first landing/taking Superman & Lois up to the mothership/battle- this part was the most exciting, I thought- and the closest we've seen to a 'scifi' version of Superman on film I thought

STM: Helicopter Rescue, specifically the shirt rip. It is THE greatest moment in comic book history.
SII: The spire falls from the Empire state, Superman catches it before giving a wink and smile to the mother with the pram (Classic Reeve)
SIII: Hard to go with anything other than the junkyard fight, showed Reeve's abilities as an actor too.
SIV: Hard not to go with the telephone box change in the subway.
SR: Plane rescue, brilliantly done to be honest. Always loved when he flights straight through the broken wing.
MOS: Superman defeating the gravity beam. The music really lifts that scene too

S3: Shirt rip
S4: Um....uhhhh. Yeah, I guess the double date.
SR: Bullet to the eye, I guess
MOS: I don't really remember. I liked Clark finding the spaceship.

STM: Rocket chase. Runner up: the interview with Lois.
SII: alley run and change. Runner up: metropolis battle.
SIII: junkyard battle. Runner up: Clark and Lana after the reunion
Supergirl: Flying ballet/first flight. Runner up: flight to Selena's fortress.
SIV: UN speech. Runner up: double date.
SR: plane rescue. Runner up: elevator shaft change.
MOS: first flight. Runner up: oil rig rescue.
Tough to narrow some of them down. I also considered the Air Force one reeve from STM, the flag flying scene from II, chemical plant sequence from III, the moon flag moment from IV, etc.

Most powerful scenes to me:
STM: Death of Jon Kent (Brando's baby monologue comes close)
S2: Beaten up in diner
S3: Comes on to Lana Lang
SIV: Probably CK looking out the window with his glasses off (lol)
SR: floating in space after stalkerman scene
MOS: Smallville battle (the only scene I recall where the threat of violence against his mother got some emotion from me)

STM: Fortress of Solitude. Pure cinematic magic. Helicopter sequence, runner up.
SII: Supes crushes Zod's hand. Runner up: "I believe this is your floor!"
SIII: The chemical plant fire. Love all the practical effects. Runner up: junkyard scene.
SIV: Supes gets out of the ground on the moon, fixes the American flag, and fucks Nuclear Man's day UP. Runner up: The dinner scene. It's goofy and fun and cute.
SR: Plane rescue. Intense. What sound! Runner up: the final flight we see Superman take to the Williams theme song. So beautiful to see him truly soar through the clouds.
MOS: Zod explains to Clark who he is with the help of that cool Etch-A-Sketch thing. Runner up: The flight scene. What sound!

STM: Helicopter Scene... the pacing, the music everything, pure cinematic epicness SII: Crushing of Zods hand and the music.. I've loved that scene from the very first time I've seen it and I still get that "Fuck ya!" moment when it happens. SIII: Junkyard fight. I forgot about the Gus and Brad drinking.. I need to see this soon.. Cassie hasn't seen this one. SIV: Hmmm............. I like the UN Speech scene, and the Moon fight, crawling out of the ground SR: Plane Rescue and the Lois and Superman flight. MOS: There's a lot of things I like in this movie right now, so I can't really pic just one.. I'll think more on it. |
