Like - Sure, why not? He was pretty good in The Social Network. He can be that diminutive guy who can give an intimidating performance. Channel a bit of Clarence Bodvaginaer, perhaps?

I'm not sure what to say. Eisenberg? At this point why not? The movies a mess anyway. I don't care enough to even be mad. Could be a glorious embarrassment.
Where's ATP with a LOLLOLLOLLOL? It sure would be appropriate.

So many talented people rumored for the part: Cranston, Phoenix, Strong.
Ad they go with Eisenberg?
Maybe it will be a Heath Ledger/Daniel Craig thing, but I dunno.

Actors who get roles like this who have "a lot to prove" tend to silence the critics.

If there is anything wrong with this movie, I believe that it's not going to be Eisenberg.
I think he'll surprise us, like I said in a facebook comment "I'm gonna give him a shot.. I think he could pull it off, and if he does, it'll show great range for him as an actor if he can play this really serious."

It is an unusual choice and I do like Eisenberg in everything he does, but he seems to play himself (or just the same character) in every film, the geeky fast talking snobby super genius type, but then again that could work for the modern Lex Luthor.
I just don't see him as an evil murdering type, the way I could envisaged Phoenix or Cranston.
This choice is far more bizarre and controversial than Affleck as Batman (at least he's far more easy to imagine as Batman).
And Jeremy Irons as Alfred certainly brings great weight to the role, just as Caine did. Though not really excited.
The only thing that will excite me is a shot of Cavill on set! ... In a Superman suit or as Clark Kent (I don't care which!)

I just don't get it, very odd casting. It's almost like they're casting the most out there choices just to keep people talking about the movie. At this point I'm not a fan, I just don't see how someone looking like him could intimidate Cavill. If he actually decides to act and not just play himself it could be good. But if he does exactly what he playing Zuckerberg then it'll be a bore. Time will tell I suppose, I'll try to keep an open mind.

Yeah...... It could all work, but..... with MOS, the movie already strayed from how I envisioned the comics would come to life- and with each casting choice, it seems to stray further and further away from that.
Could be a good movie, but it's like going back in time to those old tv movie adaptations of Marvel and DC superheroes in the 70's, where you would barely recognize the comic it was based on. Very strange choices.

I saw this news about Lex & Alfred casting in MOS2 on my news-feed and went looking at some of the entertainment news/forums, predictably there were huge meltdown on the Eisenberg thing - almost everyone was bitching like 6 years old. I loled a lot. I admitted that Eisenberg was completely out of the left field. However, it fit the character that Zack Snyder had in mind when he spoken to Yahoo Movie a couple of weeks ago - a combination of Richard Branson and Brad Pitt. Here's his exact quote: “I don’t know. I think you’d just have to imagine like a combination of, you know, Richard Branson and Brad Pit I guess, mixed together.” (Psss Mr Snyder, go easy on, "you know, you know..." Yess, I know! lol.) Eisenberg was most likely screen tested late last year, probably along with other actors, the same as Gal Gadot plus a couple of other actress. Considering the unconventional casting of these three - Affleck, Gadot & Eisenberg, the shooting script better be good! In any case, I'm looking forward to this. Here's a nice idea that someone made up:

Either way, not thrilled with casting....
