Remember in 2008, when Alex's forum split up and we chose to follow the instigators and come here?
Looking back, did we make the wrong decision?
By defecting, we all contributed to fracturing what was a great community, and what we got in exchange has turned out to be a dead, empty forum.

Nah I don't think so. I remember just posting a link and Alex banned me. I would have gladly visited both forums but he was so petty he wouldn't have that. He acted like a bitter spouse during a divorce. There were problems with people on both sides but I don't think the people who ran this forum were ever the problem. They were usually pretty fair as far as I'm concerned. Enrique never should have been banned though. Some of the people he was sticking it to were just as guilty or worse.

For my two cents- I don't recall having any issues with Alex's forum personally, except for one member.
Also..... I've said and done things in my life that I regret when passionate about something- and, it's over 14(?) years ago- covid maybe makes it feel like a 100 years ago.
I do a million things I regret daily- I'm trying to be a better person, but I know people probably won't forget some things I've said in the past in my life.... but the older I get, the more I think it's good to forgive/forget when possible.
But- having said that, I still do have problems forgiving things and certain people in my real life, so I can't say and it's not my place to say what should and shouldn't be forgiven. Just that time's short to hold too many grudges and covid showed a lot of things aren't nearly as important to me as I thought over time.

In hindsight, Alex's forum was mostly fine.
The best one was Gandy's original one, but after the Donner Cut was released, he seemed to lose all interest.
We should probably have stayed at Alex. Forum splits are never a good thing.
And when this new one was set up, the power of being in authority, and being moderator, went to people's heads and they started acting like obnoxious tyrants.

The problems would have happened there too. The split was unavoidable. What happened was unavoidable.
