These are really great. Not sure about Reeve's arm positions on the last one though, i get it follows the composition of the figures, but it looks awkward and not like a pose he would adopt.

Depends on what he's doing. It's a moment in time. For all we know he might be putting his arms to his sides for that flying pose or he's repositioning to break off to his right. Reeve was known to use his arms to show himself changing postition more than any other actor. Look at what Reeve is doing with his left arm in this gif. It's pretty consistent with what Ross did with the artwork. Not exactly the same but similar movement.

I agree that the body language is a little odd. Wonder Woman's positioning bothers me more. It looks like she's standing up rather than jumping forwards.

Nice!!! I wish the regular model he uses for his other Superman art had more of a Reeve look (I assume he needs to license the actors' likenesses for this particular poster), if he (presumably) is not allowed to base all his Superman art on Reeve specifically.

With this renewed push for the Reeve era in DC WB is sitting on easy money. They should do a digital comic or something. Hopefully they do something for the 40th anniversary. Get Ross to do some covers.

Get Ross to do some covers. Have Ross do a Superman II adaptation- with the Mankiewicz script (and maybe alternate endings though?). THAT would be a moneymaker imo!

You mean the version they were going to do before Donner got canned but after they decided to focus on finishing Superman I?

You mean the version they were going to do before Donner got canned but after they decided to focus on finishing Superman I? Yeah- with Lois NOT dying in the FOS as Donner had already changed that in shooting... and having Supes react to the world destruction (presumably hinting at all the deaths as well to motivate him) to reverse time. But, in an ideal world, Ross doing an adaptation of STM AND SII as originally planned- no repeat of the time reversal. If it's got to happen, only once, at the end of SII...

I'd take either one. If Frank Miller can get his version of Robocop 2 and 3 published in comic form why not? There is a precedent.

John Byrne was SUPPOSED to do an adaptation for Superman II in comics- as a 'sorta' prequel for SR at the time- but plans got changed. Whether he would have adapted the theatrical or the Donner script, I don't know, though...

Maybe they didn't see the point back then. Maybe there were licensing issues. As for why it didn't happen recently dc probably thought the time had passed. Star Wars has gotten The OT adapted recently as comics though the right?
